The Big Hydrangea Flower Dresses Up Invitations

The hydrangea flower is one of the best known and especially loved for weddings of all kinds. It's large size and variety of amazing colors - blue being a favorite - make the flower versatile. Because the flower itself is so large, one bloom can make a mini-bouquet, and a few together quickly create a lovely centerpiece.

On the shrub it blooms in summer and continues to look beautiful long into Fall when the flowers are left to dry on the bush. Once the stems are cut, special care must be taken to assure a long vase life (see video below) or the flowers can be dried to last into winter.

The colors of the hydrangea flower can be the brightest, true blue which is rarely seen in the floral world and this could explain why Bride's covet a bouquet of blue hydrangeas for their weddings. The flowers can also be light green as in the Limelight variety, or the blues can fade in Fall and turn an amazing shade of green that is very unique. This palette of color can enhance any type of arrangement being used for a special occasion.

What's your favorite?

My son and his wife were married at the Searles Castle in Windham, New Hampshire. Even though they lived in Kentucky, most of the family was in the New Hampshire area, so they made their plans from afar and traveled back and forth to set everything up. They were married in January and fortunately the snowfall was minimal - they were lucky! It was a very beautiful event.

We Have Pretty Green Hydrangeas

If green flowers are your thing, we have those!

Green hydrangea flowers can come from the limelight shrub which has tall, delicate looking flowers that are very pale green, or they can be found closer to the end of the growing season when the blue flowers fade. We have photos of the latter. This pretty green floral design was created with big beautiful flowers in an unusual shade of green. Some of the images have a light lavender hue as the photos were taken at just the right time. Preserved forever on paper, green hydrangeas are unique and lovely.

Wedding program examples at BlueHyd are printed on two-sided paper and single-side. There are advantages to each. The two-sided letterhead has a choice of nice paper types such as; linen, speckled barley, felt cream, recycled white. Or choose basic white as the most affordable type. The letterhead paper can be folded in half or into thirds for a tri-fold or z-fold program.

The double sided paper can be folded in half and has four areas to add text with decorative images on all four (or 2) sides. There is no paper choice. The paper will be matte white, but is a good choice for lengthier programs needing more room for text. The decorated, double-sided paper is the most popular and also the least expensive, and with bulk discounts available, even cheaper!

About The Envelopes

All invitations will come with plain white envelopes

Your invitations and reply cards will automatically come with plain, white envelopes, but some customers opt to purchase additional, designer envelopes that have a paper choice, and/or color, to match their invitations. These envelopes can be purchased at an additional cost and have the option to print return addresses either on the back flap, front left corner or on the front - as in the case of the A2 reply size envelopes. (The plain white envelopes can not have any printing added before purchase.)

**Individual addresses can NOT be added as the envelopes are purchased in bulk. Sorry! Many of my customers choose to purchase envelopes with the return address and then hand write or do calligraphy for each of the mailing addresses.

**Also PLEASE NOTE that these extra, decorated and printed envelopes have a longer turn around time and can take 3 to 4 weeks longer to receive than the invitations, so give yourself plenty of time when ordering them.

Many of our REPLY CARDS are created on the smaller A1 size cards and Zazzle does not offer that size as an extra envelope, so if you want to purchase a reply envelope with a printed address, choose the larger A2 size reply card option or purchase the A1 (4Bar) size printed envelopes elsewhere.
