Blue Man Group Review

When I went to Las Vegas in the past, I usually went there to eat at the buffets and then I would admire the casinos decor as I made my way to the machines. Those machines with the clink, clink, clink, their siren call beckoning you to take a gamble. Then, after a few days, I would fly home with an empty feeling and broke. When I got home family would ask "Did you have a good time in Vegas." I would shrug and I would say "Yes, and I ate well." You have to look at Vegas as a giant arcade with a chance to win some money. It is entertainment.

In October of 2006, I went to Las Vegas and I thought I try something different. So, I went to some shows, the Star Trek Experience and the Blue Man Group. Being a Star Trek fan I really enjoyed both Star Trek shows. I'm familiar with Star Trek. But, the Blue Man Group, although I saw then on talk shows, they were somewhat of a mystery. They look like they might be in a Star Trek episode. Would they be fun?
My friend and I stayed at the Excalibur. I arrived first and my friend showed up the following day. While I was awaiting her arrival. I ordered the tickets to the Star Trek Experience and the Blue Man Group online. Normally, I do not take my laptop with me to Vegas, but I was coming from overseas and I did not get a chance to go home yet. The shows we were going to were not at my hotel. But, they were on the strip. I also got monorail all day pass tickets. The Monorail runs from the MGM to the Sahara behind the hotels parallel to the strip. This made it easy to go to both shows.

I splurged on the tickets to The Blue Man Group and it was worth it. We sat in the center of the theater in the second row. We were pretty close to the stage. The good seats a.k.a. the splash zone. I don't want to give anything away. Not that I could, because the show is hard to explain. You have to see it yourself to understand what I'm talking about. I'll just say that this show "stimulated my senses with its humor and artistic style." To answer my own question. It was fun. I still left Vegas broke, but, I can tell my family without my eye twitching that "I had a great time."
