Bluegrass Festivals in Ontario, Canada!

I decided to create this lens about Bluegrass Festivals in Ontario because I wanted to get the word out and promote bluegrass music. Ontario is very rich in bluegrass music. There are several bluegrass festivals all over this great province throughout the year. It seems every year another festival starts up somewhere in Ontario, and this is very exciting.

Bluegrass music is gaining much popularity, and rightly so. After all so many people can relate to the lyrics and the sounds and the bluegrass festivals are such a great function to attend.

In this lens I will talk about what makes Bluegrass Festivals so fun and great for the whole family! Especially in Ontario eh!

First Bluegrass Festival in Ontario I Experienced!

Tottenham Bluegrass Festival

The very first bluegrass festival I attended in Ontario was the Tottenham Bluegrass Festival. It was actually the second bluegrass festival I went to anywhere.

The Tottenham Bluegrass Festival is Ontario's largest bluegrass festival and is growing like crazy every year. It is situated in a beautiful conservation area in the Village of Tottenham just northwest of Toronto.

At theTottenham Bluegrass Festival you can find really good Canadian & American bluegrass bands. Every year I've attended, I haven't been disappointed by the level of entertainment. Also there is always great jamming around the campsites at night when the main music is over and during the day you can check out some of the many instrument workshops and vendors available. Tottenham is always at the top of my list of festivals to go to!

Conestoga Trail Bluegrass Festival

The Conestoga Bluegrass Festival takes place on a farm in Princeton Ontario close to Woodstock Ontario. The hosts of this wonderful festival are Gerry & Fran Morgan. This festival has become one of my favorites of the year.

2008 was it's first year, and it was a hit with the fans that attended. In 2009, I think the attendance doubled and was also a success. Every detail from
A to Z is covered at the Conestoga Bluegrass Festival and if looking for a well run family festival to attend in the future, I highly recommend this festival!

I'm very excited to announce our NEW BLOG about Bluegrass Festivals.

I've been creating and sharing Squidoo lenses for a few years now on the subject of Bluegrass Festivals. Bluegrass festivals and bluegrass music is a passion that I and many other people share. We are a close knit bunch of people and it's the bluegrass music that has brought us together.

One evening I was working on a lens about bluegrass festivals and a suddenly a light bulb went off in my head. I thought why not create a blog about bluegrass festivals and bluegrass music! I began getting all kinds of great ideas for the blog and within 24 hours I had the domain and wordpress theme all set up. I also talked to some close friends and asked them if they would join me in creating content for the blog and designing the blog.

Within a week of the idea our blog was LIVE and providing bluegrass festival information to the world!

Be sure to drop by and check out Bluegrass Festival Hangout Here and please leave a comment on some of our posts.

Thank you,

- Roland Leveille
