Some quick facts about blue rose
They come in all kinds of colors and shapes but the one that is rare and special, is a blue rose.
Blue rose petals do not appear in nature but they have for centuries been a great inspiration not only to artists and poets, but also to florists and lovers - as a symbol of love and prosperity.
As early as in 12th century blue roses were known to the orient, where growers produced them by placing a blue dye into the bark of the roots. Most of the time, blue roses are attained by the process of dying white roses. It shouldn't be a surprise, though, that scientists also managed to create a blue-colored rose via genetic engineering in 2004.
But blue rose is not just another pretty flower. It's also a beautiful song and a line dance that goes with it. And that's what this page is about.

Artist: Pam Tillis
Song: Blue Rose Is
Album: Put Yourself In My Place
They're both ruby red
She thinks that's how you hide
The pain you feel inside
And she comes out every night
To soak-up the neon light
Her perfume fills the air
People stop and stare
But Blue Rose is looking for the moon in someone's eyes
Blue Rose is willing to believe in someone's lies
Blue Rose's pedals have been crushed along the way
Oh Blue Rose is just growing bluer everyday
One more drink, one more dance
You might be her only chance
She needs someone to hold
When the night is growing old
And if you don't mind the thorns
She'll take you in and keep you warm
Lyin' in the dark
In a bed of broken hearts
But Blue Rose is looking for the moon in someone's eyes
Blue Rose is willing to believe in someone's lies
Blue Rose's pedals have been crushed along the way
Oh Blue Rose is just growing bluer everyday

- I learned something! When I saw your lens on blue roses, I thought they would have to be some new hybrid as I had never seen or even heard of them before ... but they've been around as far back as the 12th century? Wow. I want some now!
