Bluetick Coonhound Breed was in the WKC Dog Show for the first time in 2011 and is a Hunting Dog
The Bluetick Coonhound is one of a few breeds of Coonhound. Others include the Black and Tan Coonhound, English Coonhound, Plott Hound, Redbone Coonhound and the Treeing Walker Coonhound. These are scenting dogs, or hunting dogs.
In dog shows, this dog is part of the Hound Group, as the name indicates, and was one of the new breeds in the 2011 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. I love the annual show and it's new breeds as it gives me an excuse to get to know them better, which I'll do, and share with you, right here on this page.
