Who is Blythe?

Blythe is a 11 1/2 inch tall fashion doll with a large head created by Kenner Toys in 1972. Her distinguishing feature is her large eyes that changed colour by means of a pull string. Unfortunately, children were afraid of her huge eyes. She was a spectacular flop, and spent the next 30 years languishing in obscurity.

Blythe was rediscovered in the early 2000s and is being reproduced by the Takara Tomy company in Japan as Neo-Blythes. She has finally achieved the success she dreamed of.
