Time with the family, no TV or video games, the children are learning (without knowing it) and in these hard times, it's cheap. However games are great because the are fun!! Here are some tried and true winners for older and younger children.

Great games for 3 - 5 year olds

Games for young children are all about teaching them the basics, i.e. numbers, colors, letters, counting, etc. Here are a few great choices to pick from.

Hands down, board games! I have yet to see a board game that has you kill, steal, mame, reap, or harm others in anyway possible. Board games are a family affair. Board games don't need a $300 console to make them work and each game doesn't cost $50 or more.

What is better, a board game or a video game?

Yes, I am all for board games, especially the classic ones. That's what we had when I grew up and I think I turned out OK without all the video games.
