Boba Fett-The Best Bounty Hunter in the Universe

This lens looks at the film career of legendary Star Wars Bounty Hunter Boba Fett.
No other character has so inspired Star Wars fans. He has appeared in books, toys, comics and more.

Even though he apparantly survived his "death" in Return of the Jedi, here we look only at the movie life of Boba Fett, since it is clear and not bogged down in stories from the comics, books and video games, things not everyone may be familiar with.

Origin of Boba Fett.

When the people of Genosa created a "Clone Army of the Republic" based on the DNA of Jango Fett one clone was not altered. He was allowed to be raised as a child. He was adopted and raised by his "father" Jango Fett, who was later killed by Jedi Knight Mace Windu during the Clone Wars when Windu was trying to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker from execution. Jango Fett was beheaded and all that Boba Fett had left was the helmet, which he kept.

Amazingly, Boba Fett, never said "Damn, I don't want to die like my pop did. Maybe I should become a good guy." No he became a bounty hunter like his father.

New YouTube vids

In 1978, In between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, CBS ran a Star Wars Holiday Special Christmas Cartoon. A 9 minute episode introduces Boba Fett and gives you an idea as to the kind of trickery and deceit he is capable of.

I don't know much about the rest of the shorts in this cartoon, but I kind of like this episode, even though most of the internet who has seen pans it. The only thing about it is nowhere in the episode does Luke reveal his name to Boba Fett and yet in one part, Boba Fett does indeed call him Luke. The major bad part of it and perhaps this is what people don't like is that the animation is really, really bad. Well, enjoy; it anyway.

Boba Captures Han

In The Second film of the original Trilogy-The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett is one of several bounty hunters hired by Vader to find Skywalker and friends.

Han and Leia, who had escaped from the Empire in the Millenium Falcon, find themselves betrayed by a former friend, Lando Calrissian who turns Han over to the Empire.

In an effort to tests a new method of freezing called Carbonite, Han is frozen. Boba Fett cautions Vader, saying "He's no good to me dead". Fett then leaves with a frozen Han Solo who Boba Fett is turning over to Jabba the Hutt, who Han owes money to.

Death of Boba Fett

This video is from the beginning of the Star Wars Return of the Jedi Jabba's Barge Sequence. I really wanted it for the scenes of Boba Fett getting his. Ironic that he tried to kill Han and Han turns around and rubs Boba Fett out with no effort.

I apologize that it kept going after that, but when I found other videos that were shorter, the quality was awful, or one that made it look like Luke braking free of the snare, threw him against the ship and other problems. This is the BEST I could find.

Enjoy!!

The End of Fett

So there you have it. For one of the greatest bounty hunters of all time it sees kind of an ignomous ending for a great bounty hunter. You would think that his end would come from one of the assignments he had going bad.

I know that later books and comics say he survived the Sarlacc pit, but this lens is looking at the cartoon and movie versions of boba and this is how we last saw him--being digested!
