Like cats, Bobcats are Curious but very shy.
Bobcats are curious, like cats, but they are very shy and never come up to people. They do not make good pets. Bobcats have very sharp teeth and are carnivorous (eating only meat.) The bobcat's scientific name, Felis Rufus, has to do with the cat family (felines). The scientific name for the house cat is Felis catus!
WOW! I found bobcat stuffies.
Great Books about Bobcats

Bobcat: North America's Cat
Gr 4-7-Swinburne's account of attempting to track and spot a small, powerful predator in Vermont includes treks made with professional naturalists and a trip made with a sixth-grade class. The attractive book, made up of a prologue and four short chapters, incorporates details about the animal's life in its natural habitat and in captivity. Most of the plentiful full-color photographs were taken by the author and by a habitat specialist, who also appears in the book.
There’s a Bobcat in My Backyard: Living with and Enjoying Urban Wildlife (Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Guides)
In this entertaining guidebook, naturalist Jonathan Hanson introduces readers to the satisfaction of attracting and enjoying desert wildlife and tells how to cope with those that are sometimes considered pests. Generously laced with humor and brimming with helpful information, his book can turn readers from mere bystanders into active participants in an environment in which we all--people and wildlife--must coexist.
Forest Cats of North America
Cougars, bobcats, and lynx are "ghosts" rarely seen even by those who venture into the wilderness. This well-written book offers a good introduction to the lives of these three predators. In short, easily read sections, the author compares and contrasts the behavior and lifestyles of each species.
Bobcat: Master of Survival
"The book provides a fairly exhaustive look at how the cats hunt, kill, breed and die - and how they coexist with humans, perhaps their only obstacle. ... Maybe the cat's air of mystery makes Hansen's first-person accounts of bobcat encounters particularly compelling."
Some Bobcat Facts
* Bobcats are solitary. * They can live for 12-13 years in the wild, and up to 33 years in captivity.

Bobcat's Home Life
Bobcats like to make their dens under fallen logs or under the root mass of a fallen tree.
Bobcats can only eat about 3 pounds of meat at a time, so if they get a big animal like a deer, they will drag it to a safe spot and cover it up.

Bobcat Conservation Status
Bobcats are on CITES: Appendix I, but are not listed on the 2000 IUCN Red List. They are at threat of habitat fragmentation and loss due to the increasing human population. In the last 20 years, the bobcat has been the most heavily harvested and traded of all the cat species, and large numbers are trapped for fur. In Mexico they are persecuted because of the threat they pose to livestock.
