Body-for-Life Program

The Body for Life Program was developed by Bill Phillips over a decade ago now. Along with Fat Loss 4 Idiots, it is my favorite diet program, although Body For Life of course includes some very specific and effective workout routines. The book has remained a top seller at Amazon all this time, and continues to be an extremely popular way to achieve weight loss and increase energy. This page will delve into some of the finer points of the Body for Life program, leaving you with an overall sense of what the program is all about.

Body-for-Life Exercise 

The Body-for-LIFE program employs a very specific variation of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), called the High Point Technique (TM). HIIT has been the subject of studies showing that fat loss is enhanced with HIIT training over low intensity steady state training. Since the Body-for-Life Program is a form of HIIT training, we can safely infer that these benefits apply to the Body-for-Life style of exercise as well.

The main conclusion is that HIIT training raises your metabolism to a high level, and keeps it there long after the workout is over. This means you are still losing weight while you are driving home from the gym, and long after.

No wonder so many people have had such great success with the Body-for-Life program!

The Body-For-Life Diet 

Body-for-Life is a program that places an equal emphasis on diet and exercise.

Here is how the Body For Life Diet works:

* Eat small meals, six times per day.

* Each meal should include a portion of carbs and a portion of protein.

* A portion is defined as the size of your fist.

* Include a portion of vegetables with a couple of the meals.

* Drink lots of water.

* Replace some meals with nutrition shakes when you don't have time to prepare, or get caught up in daily life.

* Plan ahead so you aren't left without alternatives when your co-workers pizza arrives!

* Your free day, eat whatever you want once per week.

The free day is a great idea and one of the main reasons people are able to stick with this diet, you always have something to look forward to.

If you are sticking with the program the other 6 days, your metabolism will process the free day food without any problems.

The Body-for-Life Program is well balanced and keeps you on track with Diet and exercise.

To burn fat build muscle the Body for Life program is an excellent choice. You may not obtain washboard abs with this program, but it will get you lean and fit pretty quickly as these things go. There is no better program for the beginner to build muscle fast than Body for Life.
