BODY IMAGE MASTERY has almost nothing to do with diets per se... why? Well, because diets merely focus on the body... and yes, that is the main focus for our end results, but any diet only deals with the mechanical aspect of changing our bodies, in fact, changing our lives. The truth of the matter, is that there is a whole other aspect of becoming fit that every type of diet, gimmick and gadget completely overlooks, and this is something that, for the mass majority of us out there, can prove to be a huge obstacle to ourselves if not properly focused upon.
You see, we are not merely machines, but primarily, we are emotional beings as well.
Yes, some people lose weight easily, even with the silliest of diets, because they are phenomenally strong in their hearts, and they luckily either never knew the depression that many of us endure, or were able to somehow overcome it.

We are surrounded by many things that can generate self-loathing within us

HOW "LOVE YOURSELF" makes an important difference - We are all too familiar by now, with all of the horrid images of impossible body types thrown upon us through mass-media. However, simply being aware of the wrongness of such just isn't enough to empower us. Even if we try to ignore these foolish images and imposed expectations, we are still nonetheless affected by them as we continue to be barraged by the constant onslaught of such imagery.
We end up hating ourselves deep inside, however aware of it we allow ourselves to be, and while we might wear a smile for others to see, inside we are often deeply depressed with ourselves. The giving up, the giving in... it slowly eats away at us inside in a downward spiral of self defeat.
But what most of us forget, or fail to realize, is that our emotions, the way we see ourselves, the way we feel about ourselves, directly affects our physical bodies... the only possible end result is that we stand in our own way and defeat ourselves before we even begin to try, and this is why any and all diets will always fail us.
LOVE MY BODY?
YES - but more importantly, love who you are.

LOVE MY BODY - ?? Now, at great risk of sounding all trite and Pollyanna-ish as though simply thinking about lollipops and sunshine will make the universe go your way, the above subtitle is very important here. One very real problem that most of us have is self-loathing.
And it need not be as aggressively so as that sounds... the majority of us all might not even realize that this is in fact what we do to ourselves, on whatever degree. If you think of it this way, that to hate actually means merely "to love less", then we might gain a better perspective on how we see ourselves.
Yes, often we might externalize things by saying something like, "Oh, I hate my thighs"... but really, on the inside, we're damning ourselves and heaping all of the blame and guilt upon ourselves, and we end up feeling less than worthy, even less than human. It's a terrible inner hell. This is a wildly, emotionally unhealthy thing to do to ourselves, and yet it seems to be the most natural behavior to gravitate to, without even giving it a thought.
It's been proven that weight gain and depression go hand in hand, almost in a circle. One causes the other, while the other feeds into the one, and vice-versa. It can be an endless viscous cycle that can entomb us for the rest of our natural born lives. Is this how we really want to live?
This is where we need to wake up within us, and I mean you men out there as well. As much as some of you men out there care not to admit it, your self image is emotionally driven as well.

"I'LL DO ANYTHING TO BE SKINNY" - how many times have we said or thought that? It's really not so very complicated to do, once you understand everything at ALL levels.
Now, while Laura Fenamore is all about releasing fat and weight, she hasn't developed just a diet per se. She does offer excellent information along the lines of what foods are healthy and what others to stay away from, but her work is much more all-encompassing than a mere diet.
As far as foods go, she offers many guidelines and encourages others to pick and choose their foods for their health, because eating (as long as you eat healthy) isn't the biggest factor here. We all know the obvious common sense things (like don't eat an entire box of Oreos for breakfast, etc.) about eating healthy, and she gives us more valuable information in that regard.
Some have even taken her advice and applied it to their existing weight loss plan, although her work does quite more than well enough as a stand-alone system, so taking on other "diets" isn't a necessity.
