One of the most intense workouts that I know of came in response to a movie. It's kind of funny, but it also makes sense because the actors in that movie were among the most fit and muscular guys I have ever seen.

The movie is called 300 and if you never saw it, then you should. The plot may not be all that much, but the special effects, the imagery, and the way the guys who play the Greek warriors in that movie looked makes it worth watching.

People who watched the movie were interested in knowing which workouts the actors did to look so great. The problem was that this workout, known as the 300 workout. The problem was that this workout requires a great deal of fitness equipment. It's not the sort of thing that you can do at home. This is why a fitness trainer by the name of Craig Ballantyne, author of the well-known Turbulence Training created a bodyweight version of this workout. This is how the Bodyweight 500 Workout was created.

More About This Bodyweight Workout

The Bodyweight 500 workout is made up of a series of exercises that you perform in a circuit. What I mean by a circuit is that you don't stop between exercises. You keep on going until all of the reps are done. This is not an easy workout to do. You need to be already fit to be able to do it. The good news is that there are versions of this workout which are easier (and some that are harder).
