It's one thing writing a blog; making it known and getting visitors is another. Many people think that if they write or build it they will come. This is not the case. Just because you have placed your work on the internet, does not mean that it will be seen by anyone. Building links to your blog will definitely help to get it listed in the search engines and bring in visitors. However when you are trying to build a customer base and get your blog known, getting just a few links is not enough. You will need to continue to work on your blog, and get links to it, all of the time. The more links you have the better as it gives your blog authorty in the eyes of the search engines. Obtaining links is something that you will never stop doing, and you should try and devote some time to it every week. Social bookmarking sites are a great way of getting traffic to your website quickly. I have written a new blog, booked marketed it on a few social bookmarking websites and seen my blog get visitors and search engine robots to it in less than 24 hours! Using these websites to get traffic in the early days of your blog is a must. many of these sites have a high page ranking so it is a great way of getting quality links back to your blog. Videos are becoming increasingly popular on the internet. So adding videos to your blog is also a great technique for blog marketing. This is because you can then submit your blog to the video directories. So if there are any videos that will fit into your blogs niche, it would be well worth adding them. YouTube.Com is a great resource for finding useful videos. Just search for videos on your subject, get the embeding code for any that you think are relevent, and add them to your blog. Simple! There is a new Wordpress pluggin that is under development that will find and add videos to your blog for you. I will write about it as soon as it comes on the market. If you have got money to spend on your blog marketing campaign, you could submit it to one of the paid directories. Google tends to trust the paid sites. They know that some paid directories will only list quality sites or blogs no matter how much money you have.

Using a press release as part of your blog marketing is another way to get your blog noticed. For a fee, you can have a press release written about your blog and then submitted to all of the hot off the press news sites. Your blog will get many hits from a press release and having it linked to these kinds of sites will help your page rank as well. Another way of promoting your blog is to find other blogs that are in your niche and leave some useful comments. Blogs are interactive and blog owners love to get feedback from their readers. Blogging should Be Fun!

One of the major challenges for any would-be blog marketer is finding enough material for their blogs. Blogs by their nature are an on going dialogue between the blog owner and his/her readers, and therefore need to be updated regularly. This can put quite a strain on any blogger. How do you come up with new relevent information for your posts?

It helps, especially when you are just starting out, to have an interest in the subject that you are going to write about. Remember you are going to spend many hours writing about your particular niche, so if you find it boring, you are very likely to give up. Besides, who wants to spend their time researching and writing about something that they have no interest in? Blogging should be fun! If you enjoy writing about a particular subject your enthusiasm will rub off on your readers, and they are more likely to take your recommendations seriously.

You may of course have an interest in a subject but have little or no knowledge about it. Should this put you off writing? No! Instead become an expert. Spend time researching on line, find blogs, websites and forums o the subject. Buy some books and read them. Blogging might just be the incentive that you need to learn about something you have always wanted to learn about. Remember - blogging should be fun!

One great way of getting started is to buy some private label material and use that as a springboard for your writing. There are a number of good services that provide regularly updated PLR content. I have listed some of my favorites below. Some charge a monthly fee while others charge a one time only fee. Ebay can be a good source of cheap private label content, take a look at my eBay module and see what is on offer.

What ever you do, do not just copy PLR articles to your blog! Google will rank you low if your content is found on numerous other websites and blogs. Some of the cheaper PLR articles and books are written by people for whom English is not their first language, they tend to be quite badly written. This may put you off using them. But I have found them to be some of the easiest ones to use as you have to re-write them! Often the research is good and the ideas are good, but the grammar is bad! In fact this lens started out as a PLR book. it's content was good but it was badly written (you may think that it is still badly written)but it gave me a skeleton to build on. I have taken it and added many of my own ideas and knowledge to it. Use PLR content as a springboard for your own ideas. Re-write them and give them your own voice. Concentrate on writing quality material and you will soon build up a regular readership.

Writing for the internet is not like writing a formal essay, it is much more personal. This is particularly true when it comes to blogs. Try to make your writing as conversational as possible. write to your reader in the same way that you would talk to them face to face. Make them feel that yu are speaking directly to them. Don't be afraid to express your personal opinion about a subject.The more they feel that they know you, the more they are likely to trust your recommendations. Be careful about making a straight pitch for the product or service that you are trying to sell. Recommened a product or service but don't push it. Remember, you are trying to build up a relationship with your readers. Sales will follow in due time.

There are two ways that you can go about building your blog. The first is to write about something that you are interested in. The second is to find the product that you wan to sell first and then write posts to fit it. It is possible to write an entire blog devoted to one product or service. But if you choose your niche well, you may find that there are a number of products and services you could recommend. This could be very lucrative if you build up a regular readership. Ofering more than one product or service also has the advantage of giving your readers choice. What might be good for one of your readers may be good for another. One thing that I would say is to respect your readers. Never knowingly recommend bad prducts. This is especially true if you are recommending digital products. I have lost count of the amount of times that I have bought a e-book or website membership on the strength of someone I thought was trustworthy only to find that I had been sold useless junk. Selling useless junk may provide you with quick cash in the short term, but it may also mean that you will never see that reader again!

Probably the eaiest place to find affiliate programs is to sign up to one of the big affiliate program providers. ClixGalore lists hundreds of affiliate programs, as does Commision Junction, Share A Sale and Affiliate Future. All of these websites allow you to search for a merchant that will fit your niche. Some merchants will not allow you to sell their products until they have seen your website/blog so make sure that you write a few posts before applying.

How do the so called gurus make so much money? Many of them do it by building websites - lots of them! They usully have staff members to do much of the days to day work for them. The problem for most new be blog marketers is that of time. Making a new post to your blog every few days can be time consuming especially when you have more than a couple on the go.
