However, in today's language, the term "bohemian" is used to describe a style of fashion which was originally attributed to artists, writers, and disenchanted people of all sorts who wished to live non-traditional lifestyles.

- The term reflects the French perception, held since the 15th century, that the gypsies had come from Bohemia.
- In English, bohemian in this sense was first popularized in William Makepeace Thackeray's novel, Vanity Fair, published in 1848.
- Bohemia meant any place where you could live and work cheaply, and behave unconventionally; a community of free souls far beyond the pale of respectable society.

Welcome ladies and gents to the gypsy punk BOHEMIAN time-out formally known as Gogol Bordello ===> Gogol Bordello IS Bohemian you know? OK, maybe you can't find a Wikipedia article that states "Gogol Bordello" in the examples of Bohemian, but let me tell you ... I know Bohemian ... I know Hungarian ... I know Romanian ... I know Eastern European ... and I know that Gogol Bordello epitomizes all that is good and great about B-O-H-E-M-I-A-N.You know, it was the Summer of 2010 when I was officially introduced to Gogol Bordello. I really can't imagine or believe that I did not know about Gogol Bordello before this time. Perhaps I did, but you would have to put me out in a deep hypnotic trance to elicit who, what, where, when, why, and how ... to get the journalistic scoop on that. Suffice to say, that one day, a fellow lensmaster from Chicago, Laura Schofield, dropped by my Gypsy lens and mentioned a video I needed to see if I liked Gypsy. And, folks ... that was the beginning of my JOY!
It is pure JOY that I experience each time that I hit that one video in particular, the artsy and colorful, joyfully animated YouTube video of Pala Tute. Ah, not to fret as I have included that herein for you to partake in my joy!
I thank YOU so much for being here and there in this journey through Squidooland and beyond. I thank YOU for being a true and genuine friend. I thank YOU for giving a HOOT about "things" and for taking a moment to have a little joy ... Bohemian style! Hit IT ===>
