What is Bold Strokes for Art?
To create their joint venture works, an original composition is photographed and divided into thirds for each individual artist to paint within their own studios. When finished, the panels are reconnected into a unique work of art of strong colors and skewed perspectives. In this way-the individual variations of the artist's style can be seen up close, but from a step back, it visually blends so that a single work of art evolves.
What is Bold Strokes for Art to us? The word bold to us means being daring, assertive, and working hard for something we believe in. With each bold stroke of paint we are reminded of what it takes to create. We draw more inspiration out of working collectively, as opposed to individually and because we like to share ideas and encourage growth, it generates even more creativity. The structure of our environment develops trust and the ability to communicate with each other throughout the entire process. This collaboration illustrates our passion about painting and meets the need to express our individual perspective in each colorful work of art in a unique and unconventional way.

- I am the sole creator of my artwork. With pastels I cut to size (and prepare) the media I paint upon from commercially produced art material. These media would include sanded pastel paper, suede matboard or matboard that I specially prepared with a wash or acrylic background. I use an assortment of hard and soft pastels from a variety of makers.

- I am a trained artist in numerous mediums and art has been an important part of my life. It takes me to a special place I almost cannot describe, yet what comes out of that place is a creation of simplicity over complexity. In reflection, this duality is a reoccurring theme in all of my art.

- My favorite subjects to paint are people. I love the character
and beauty I see in each person. Every person has a story to
tell. - Carol Weiss Website
