Bono Quotes
Bono Quotes on Giving
What can I give back to God for the blessings he's poured out on me? I'll lift high the cup of salvation - a toast to God!1 point
Bono Quotes on Poverty
God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house. God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child with a virus that will end both their lives. God is in the cries heard under the rubble of war. God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them.0 points
Bono Quotes on Poverty
To me, a faith in Jesus Christ that is not aligned with the poor ... it's nothing.0 points
Bono Quotes on Poverty in Africa
The fact is that this generation -- yours, my generation ... we're the first generation that can look at poverty and disease, look across the ocean to Africa and say with a straight face, we can be the first to end this sort of stupid extreme poverty, where in the world of plenty, a child can die for lack of food in it's belly.0 points
Bono Quotes on Giving
I love this work I do. It's a privilege to serve the poor,....0 points
Bono Quotes on God
I am a friend to God, a sworn enemy of the saccharine and a believer in grace over karma.0 points
Bono Quotes on Change
Well, the going rate for change is not cheap. Big ideas are expensive.0 points
Bono Quotes on God and Taking Action
At a certain point, I just felt, you know, God is not looking for alms, God is looking for action.0 points
Bono Quotes on Poverty and AIDS
But you know what's amazing? Everywhere I go, I see very much the same thing. I see the same compassion for people who live half a world away. I see the same concern about events beyond these borders. And, increasingly, I see the same conviction that we can and we must join together to stop the scourge of AIDS and poverty.0 points
Bono Quotes on Giving
Eight million people die every year for the price of going out with your friends to the movies and buying an ice cream. Literally for about $30 a head per year, you could save 8 million lives. Isn't that extraordinary? Preventable disease - not calamity, not famine, nothing like that. Preventable disease - just for the lack of medicines. That is cheap, that is a bargain.0 points
Bono Quotes on Africa
Imagine if a third of the kids at your local primary school were AIDS orphans. That's a reality in Africa where the parents of 13 million children have been killed by AIDS.0 points
Bono Quotes on Africa
There is a continent - Africa - being consumed by flames.
I truly believe that when the history books are written, our age will be remembered for three things: the war on terror, the digital revolution, and what we did or did not to put the fire out in Africa.
History, like God, is watching what we do.0 points
Bono Quotes on Poverty
Preventing the poorest of the poor from selling their products while we sing the virtues of the free market, that's a justice issue. Holding children to ransom for the debts of their grandparents, that's a justice issue. Withholding life-saving medicines out of deference to the Office of Patents, that's a justice issue.0 points
Bono Quotes on the World
The world is more malleable than you think, and it's waiting for you to hammer it into shape.0 points
Bono Quotes on Music and Changing The World

Bono Quotes on Making A Difference
Some people drift along like a cork on a river, feeling that they cannot do anything except drift, moment to moment. This is an attitude of mind. Everyone can be constructive even in tiny ways.0 points
Bono in 'Rejoice' http://www.isee-test.org
I can't change the world. But I can change the world in me.0 points
Quotes About Bono
~Kofi Annan, UN Secretary General, to Bono. (November 1999)
For being shrewd about doing good, for rewiring politics and re-engineering justice, for making mercy smarter and hope strategic and then daring the rest of us to follow, Bono is Time's Person of the Year.
~TIME Magazine (2005)
Bono gives us a vision of how tomorrow can be better than today. He appeals to something greater than ourselves. He tells the story of his life and struggles in terms everyone can understand. He speaks about faith in a way that even a nonbeliever can embrace.
~Jann S. Wenner in Rolling Stone magazine
Speech that Bono gave at the 2006 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

- Bono is a great man. He puts himself out there to stop suffering and hunger. We all should join him in his efforts. It takes a village...and if all Bono's fans got together it would be a HUGE village. We all can't do what he can do, but we can all do something. Get involved with a good cause.
