Carry On, Mr. Bowditch | Navigation Study

Carry On, Mr. Bowditch is about a young boy who dreams of navigating the sea (and then his journeys doing just that) in Salem in the 1700's. This book is based on a true story and is a very good way to study this time period in history. Carry on Mr. Bowditch makes a great book for a family read- aloud. Here are resources to go along with studying that book.

I love this book! I read it out loud to my two youngest kids when we were homeschooling - about ten years ago. I thought it was cool that the book was about a real person with some scientific and inventive knowledge. 5* for this lens! And it is now angel-blessed. I will also feature this lens on my lens about Newbery Award Winning Books. If you make any more lenses about Newbery Medal books (or honor books) let me know!
