I love reading your comments!

From the lens A Baby Boomer Childhood .

Do you remember Hula Hoops and jumping rope at recess?

Wonderful lens. I remember having Super Skates, where you didn't need "the key".

I loved your lens with its memories and the way that you put it together.
It was neat to identify with and see your picture of the roller skates and keys!
We often frequented the penny candy store where candy was really one penny! What a wonderful assortment of cheeries, bulls-eyes, dots, coconut watermelon and more!
Oh, the days of typing with carbon paper and ink erasers---also learning shorthand!
I loved the doctors shows---Dr. Kildare and Dr. Ben Casey---and wore the doctor shirts!
Your lens brought me a lot of smiles. Thanks!

We left the house and went to the hills to slide down on cardboard. No parents, no babysitters. We roamed the streets and didn't tell anyone where we were going because all the parents kept an eye on us. We rode to the little store about a mile away and bought comic books and gum. I am raising my grandson and he isn't even allowed outside without the dog. We had a great life.

I had forgotten about the cradle roll. We didn't have TV until the mid 1960's. We played jump rope, hop scotch and tag. I remember learning in school rather than testing. We made all our own clothing and toys. We knew that our friends would be our friends for a lifetime because no one moved away and no one new moved into our town. Thank you for sharing the memories.

Ah, the memories! You didn't stump me on anything. Obviously we are from the very same era. Your picture looks like it could have been in my yearbook, though mine was a couple of states to the right of yours.

Welcome to the Memoirs Group! Baby Boomer '57, here. Loved recess, roller skates...do not miss longhand OR typewriters. Do remember longing for a typewriter of my own, though. Never got one until about 19 years old. Last one I had was one with an LCD display. The cat's meow, at the time. Took great care of it and got $25 for it in a yard sale. :D
