I value women over 40

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't c are what you think. If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game , she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting. Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it. Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.
Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart. Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her. Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal For every stunning, smart, well- coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize. For all those men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?', here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

Turner was given a generous three-song spotlight on Sunday's Grammy Awards, introduced by current hit maker Beyonce, who joined her for Proud Mary. Two songs were central to Turner's 1980s comeback, What's Love Got to Do With It and Better Be Good to Me.
Her stage presence brought to mind James Brown in his later years several steps slower, but capable of moves suggesting a famously energetic routine. And the high heels and skintight, low-cut outfit also necessitated some careful choreography and gentler steps.

The Future for Boomer Babes
The authors emphasized that this cohort of women may end up worse off than their predecessors. Baby boomer women spend more, acquire more debt and are less likely to have traditional pensions, spousal benefits, or retiree health coverage than the previous generation of women, the study found. It also said policy makers have long ignored the needs of women approaching retirement with insufficient resources.
"Baby boomer women are in trouble," writes Paul Hodge, director of the Harvard Generations Policy Program. "Unlike any other time in our nation's history, unless there are dramatic policy shifts, baby boomer women, most particularly minority women, will find their elder years to be a 'never ending' struggle. After selflessly caring for their children and aging parents, a significant number of our country's 40 million plus boomer women will not be able to afford to retire, will fall below the poverty line and experience financial insecurity and poorer health in their later years with limited aid from traditional safety nets."

A Few of My Favorite Chick Flicks
The term chick flick is slang for a movie that appeals mainly to women or young girls, either by design or popular consensus. While the term is relatively new - dating back to that bumper crop of women's movies in the 1980s and 90s that included classics like Beaches, Pretty Woman and Ghost - the concept of movies designed to appeal specifically to women has existed since the early days of cinema and has been known by other colloquial terms, including "women's pictures".
One key element of chick flicks is a respectable female lead struggling with a romantic predicament. Another prevalent theme centers around the close relationships among female friends. Due to the focus on romance or relationships, chick flicks are typically categorized as romances or romantic comedies.
Several chick flicks have been patterned after the story of Cinderella or other fairy tales (e.g. The Holiday, The Princess Diaries, A Cinderella Story, Ever After, Pretty Woman and Roman Holiday); a large number are adapted from popular novels and literary classics.

On Saturday, Giddy will wipe the Lens of the Week plexo clean so folks can start nominatin' and votin' all over again.
Eligible lenses
1) Boomers Rock! member lenses are eligible for nomination. Non-member lenses will be removed from the plexo. Please don't add them.
2) BBLOTW winning lenses are eligible for nomination six months after their win. Check the (soon to come) BBLOTW lens for winners.
Who may nominate and vote
1) Any Squidoo member may nominate a lens and vote. Not a member? Join and start building your own lens here.
2) Boomers Rock! members may nominate any lens except their own. This encourages us to get to know one another's work. After all, we're on the same team.
How to nominate a lens
1) Select "Add to this list" immediately below the list.
2) Copy the URL for the lens you want to nominate and paste it in the popup window.
3) Select "Done Adding".
4) In the box that pops up next, type "Nominated by [your Squidoo name]" and briefly tell us why you nominated this lens.
5) Submit your nomination.
Vote!
1) Vote for your nominee and refresh the plexo to re-order the ranking.
2) You may vote for as many nominees as you like throughout the week.
