Halloween Comes But Once a Year....but when it comes - BOO! it makes an impact!
Halloween is about things that go bump in the night, scaring yourself to death and, of course, an excuse for people of all ages to dress up :)
As I find myself compiling more and more Halloween related pages I decided they needed their own home which I thought deserved to be called a Boo!ography. Boo! is obviously for Halloween and the ography is because this webpage is home for a collection of different articles.
I feel like I've been shortchanged somewhat as I grew up in the UK and never got to go trick and treating as a child......however it appears that Australia is following the American tradition of trick and treating and my daughter eagerly awaits halloween again this year (so does her mum).

Dressing up is so much fun...
My daughter got into the Halloween spirit a couple of years ago with her school throwing a fancy dress disco. DD decided that she wanted to be a witch.
I taught her the wicked cackle and had to listen to her practice all day! Then came the costume.

The only thing missing was her broom and we searched high and low for one too - moral of the story, be more organized next time before supplies run out!
Now it's never as easy as just buying a fancy dress outfit for your child, or at least it's not in my experience, you also have to do hair and make-up.
For some reason my daughter wanted her hair done up in lots and lots of little plaits and surprisingly this looked really good with the make up and her witches hat on. It's certainly not how I would normally have done a witches hair, but hey......

Witches Cosmetic Requirements
A shopping list
In order to be a make-up artist to a potential wicked witch in training you will need the following cosmetics.
As far as the make up went I used the eye pencil on the lower lash line bringing it upwards into a point Cleopatra style, but with a thinner line.
Next I covered her eyelid with black eyeshadow and used the grey eyeshadow up and under her brow line.
Black mascara was added to her eyelashes and black lipstick to her lips.

- My scariest movie was an old Clint Eastwood movie called Play Misty For Me. Don't know why - its not traditionally a scary movie but It scared me at the time. Most scary movies just make me laugh.
