    an Excerpt from my book, as it describes my past pain before I discovered how to change my life:

    "I walked into the therapist's office, broken and ready to let it all out - after all, what did I have left to lose? I grew up in a depressing and hostile environment, the youngest of three daughters; my two sisters were significantly older and moved out when I was just a toddler. Just after my nineteenth birthday, my mother died from cancer, my engagement broke up, I was forced to put my dog to sleep, my father unexpectedly sold the house which had been in my family since my grandmother came over from Italy, and I had no place to go. If that wasn't enough, soon after that, I suffered through some abusive relationships, additional family tragedies, and then, my best friend died. I had had enough. All of these things had driven me, finally, to the point of hopelessness, desperation, and rage...
