Boots for wide calves can have serious style

After spending a couple years researching thin-calf boots, I got curious as to whether our equally hard-to-fit sisters needing wide calf boots fare any better in the marketplace. Doing some digging online, I have to answer with a cautious "yes"! I'm especially impressed with the gorgeous wide calf riding boots available, but there are many other cute high boots out there as well, from heels to western, motorcycle styles & more.
Here, ten of the cutest styles I discovered. Many are available in more than one color, so if you see something you like, click for options. I specifically sought styles that a) list a circumference of more than 15 1/2 inches and b) are great looking. Scroll down for super cute extra wide calf boots too. Because no woman should sacrifice style for fit!

Tons of styles are available (a quick search for women's EU size 40, about a size 9 US, at the largest calf cifcumference yielded 17 different $200-$400 boot styles, including the classy looking Ziller, right, in black & brown). I was skeptical when someone told me about this professional-grade boot stretcher. But the reviews are very convincing. If you're a boot fan who wants to significantly expand your shopping options, this might be worthwhile as a long-term investment.
