The fact that you're visiting this page tells me that you're interested in finding out more about border patrol jobs. However, before looking into border patrol jobs you must fully understand what border controls are. Border controls, as defined by Wikipedia are "measures used by a country to monitor or regulate its borders." A country might monitor it's borders for a number of different things and for many different reasons. The things that might be monitored vary from pieces of fruit to human beings. The reasons for border control can vary from economic stability to public safety.

The Border Patrol Academy

The Border Patrol Academy is where you will take the border patrol exam. The border patrol exam consists of both mental and physical tests. The academy is located in Artesia, New Mexico. New border patrol agents spend anywhere from 11 to 19 weeks there with almost all free time devoted to studying and training. If you are fluent in Spanish the stay is 11 weeks. If you need Spanish lessons, you will be asked to stay at the academy for an additional 8 weeks.

Border Patrol Salary

How much new border patrol agents are paid.

When you become a border patrol agent, your starting salary will depend on your previous education and experience. Depending on those factors you will be grouped into one of 3 levels. These levels are GL-5, GL-7, and GL-9. The starting salary as of the date this is written, is as follows:

As long as an increase in restrictions leads to an increase in available border patrol jobs and a decrease in the number of employed illegal aliens I'm all for tighter controls.
