**When a Routine Day Just Isn't Enough***
The beginning of my Squidee Blowout Group. This is my first post to the group I started. It is simply a lens that is philosophical in nature. My hope is that anyone who reads it will enjoy what I am trying to convey. Happy Reading!
P.S.
If you can't make out what the photo is all about...it is a photo of a fisherman who captured a squid with his fishing reel. At the same time, the squid decided to blowout all its ink onto the fisherman. Thus, the name of my group "Squidee Blowouts". Now you know the rest of the story. :)

"How To Blowout a Boring Day"
"When a routine day...just isn't enough"
It happens to everyone sooner or later and more often sooner than later. That is we all find ourselves in a rut of sorts and going through
the motions of the same old routine; day in and day out. And then it hits us! Man! What a boring day!
I'm reminded of the quote by John Lennon "Life is what what happens to you...when you're busy making plans" and like that your locked into a daily routine that quickly becomes boring.
So what are some of life's antidotes to blowing out a boring day? I personally like the philosophical approach. There are other external approaches like the one used by the comedian Steven Wright.
"When I get real bored, I like to drive downtown and get a great parking spot, then sit in my car and count how many people ask me if I'm leaving. ~-Steven Wright".
That is why I believe most have to start with the internal approach to conquer the dilemma of not only a boring day, a boring month, a boring year and ultimately a boring life. And God forbid! That should be our lot in life.
Now at the same time, I'm not saying our daily lives have to be totally filled with excitement and enthusiasm, each and every passing minute...but it sure does help to have a pinch of it, worked in throughout your day.. I'm sure you'd agree. And also, I'm sure you'll agree...that its easier said than done, right?
So let me throw in a few more quotes, so as to possibly help you ponder the universe of boredom and maybe help you kick start the internalization of thought processes required to blowing out the mental state of a boring day. :)
"The purpose of life is a life of purpose". ~Robert Byrne
We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.
Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965)
Or Albert Einstein's quote for successful living:
"If A equals success, then the formula is: A = X + Y + Z, where X is work, Y is play, and Z is keep your mouth shut".
Keeping my mouth shut, is the part of the formula, I myself can't seem to get. :)
But I do like the part of the formula that is about play. Which I believe is the missing part in most peoples lives, who feel daily boring lives is all they have to look forward to. And believe it or not, just as it takes the required effort to work! It takes just as much effort to play!
In other words, the philosophical approach to boredom is to exercise your mind in playful ways. Sure I could give you the standard traditional answers to daily boredom... such as find a hobby, travel etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Such external traditional type solutions are not the internal foundation needed to solve the quagmire of boring thoughts...we all posses. And therefore, the results of a boring day!
Now, I dare not insult the intelligence of anyone who is now reading this topic about a boring day. And come to the conclusion that I am announcing that a boring day = a boring person. Like I said before, we all get caught up in the daily grind of this thing we call life! And that onslaught of daily living can paralyze even the keenest of minds! And is why I am not forthcoming in giving a right or wrong answer to anyone's boredom.
I simply believe we are all philosophers to some extent and am simply putting my faith and trust to engage the philosopher inside all of usI
And that the answers simply lies with the individual themselves. What maybe boring to you, maybe exciting to me or vice versa. Only the individual knows. But if I could leave anyone with one last thought provoking quote and make absolutely sure you never ever, ever have a boring day...it would be this:
"The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity".
So to all who decide to become "Squidee Blowout Members", I look forward to reading your "How To Blowout.. (Whatever topic you'd like to discuss, inform about and simply educate). A friend of mine said he was going to post a topic in my Squidee Blowout Group about "How to Blowout Mother-in-Laws". I think he was kidding, but I told him I'd be looking for it.
Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone in advance for those joining my group "Squidee Blowouts".
God Bless to all!
