Borut Peterlin, master of Striptiz
I first met professional photographer Borut Peterlin about a couple of years ago on Flickr, through one of his photos.
I asked him for permission to use the photo - and he quickly assured me that he had loads of better pictures on his website.
Although - he didn't have to!
When an art piece is speaking to my heart, I know without a doubt - what the source of inspiration was - and that someone who just once quenches their heart desire thirst from the well of limitless creativity - will keep coming back for ever...
NOTE: All the images on this lens are copyright of Borut Peterlin
In Slovenia, Borut is probably most famous for his creations of the front page for the weekly (quite controversial - some would call it "outspoken" - and at the same time most influential) political magazine with a long tradition, Mladina (Youth) - first published in 1920s.
His creative portraits from the Striptiz series are "stripping a person being portrayed" - in order to reveal the portrayed person's real self.

Peaceful protest artwork by Borut Peterlin

Photo above: Tomo Jesenicnik, photographer.
He is an author of the famous picture that represented the Slovenian national campaign "I feel Slovenia." He made a T-shirt I feel Tibet - as a protest that Slovenian government during its presidency of EU didn't speak up (let alone do something!) about human rights issue in Tibet.
Picture was shot for magazine Mladina's creative portrait rubric Striptiz - at the same spot beside lake Bohinj in Slovenia where Tomo Jesenicnik took his famous photo.

Photo above: Rajko Pertot is a multimedia artist and a visionary, concerned with infinity, space and architecture.

Advertising design Studio Pasyteta...Studio Pasteta (Studio Paste) is a creative team of two philosophers/journalists/writers and an architect/graphic designer/painter. Their individual paths kept crossing each other until they realized that it would be much wiser to function the other way around.
They united their directions and efforts on common projects. They boarded their rocket.
And here they are, designing printing materials, setting-up urban installations and events. They go from strictly art projects to strictly commercial ones. They always try out a totally different approach, so that in the end they wouldn't be surprised. Or - sometimes they would, who knows?

Photo above: Irena Tomazin, a dancer and a winner of "Zlata ptica" (Golden Bird) award for 2007.

Photo above: Iztok Kovac is, cotemporary dancer.
Iztok is renown as "dancer that defies the gravity."
His most notorious performance was on the top of 360 m tall chimney for a film Vrtoglavi pticy (Dizzy bird).

Holy nature and peace of mind - by Borut Peterlin

Photo above: Simona Kopinsek, poet
Picture was taken on June 11 of 2007 in Maribor, Slovenia.

Photo above: Luka Blazic, a president of student association of Novo mesto.
The association is organizing the biggest wine festival in Slovenia. Luka Blazic is posing for a Striptiz portrait in Krka river - with a glass of "cvicek" wine.

As a klarinetist he is employed in Slovenian capital's Opera House. In his free time he is combinig electronic and clasical music.

Photo above: Leon Matek, a musician and a film director.

Photo above: Arne Hodalic, photographer.
Arne's photos were featured in National Geographic magazine - in an article titled Slovenia River Excavation - looking for the answers to the question: "Why did Romans, Celts, and even prehistoric settlers submerge their personal belongings, from swords to dishes, in a shallow river in Slovenia?"
Picture was shot beside Ljubljanica river in Ljubljana, at the very same spot where the richest archeological findings were discovered.

Photo above: Matej Kejzar, dancer and coreographer.
He directed a dance performance of a fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood - in a modern, contemporary way.

On April 2 of 2009, Borut Peterlin was the first artist featured in a new Inspirational Art Gallery at evolutionezine.com with his Portraits of the Artists.
