Boston Legal
Boston Legal is an American legal drama created by David E. Kelley that has aired since October 3rd, 2004. It is a spin-off of the long-running legal drama The Practice and follows the professional and personal lives of attorneys at the law firm of Crane, Poole & Schmidt.
Led by an Emmy Award-winning cast, Boston Legal returns for a fourth season to tell the professional and personal stories of a group of brilliant but often emotionally challenged attorneys. Fast-paced and wildly comedic, the series confronts social and moral issues, while its characters continually stretch the boundaries of the law.
This is one of the few shows I watch. It has a long list of extremely talented actors. The show is funny and silly to emotional and thought provoking, it's entertaining and always has a message in each show.
William Shatner (Denny Crane)
William Shatner is Denny Crane. Denny is a founding partner of Crane, Poole & Schmidt, along with Shirley Schmidt and Edwin M. Poole.I was never a big fan of Shatner on Star Trek, but absolutely love him in this series.
He often punctuates his statements by announcing his own name, "Denny Crane." The reason why Denny always says his name out loud is, according to him, that people can't believe they are actually in the room with legendary Denny Crane, so he says his name to assure them that it's real.
According to Shirley Schmidt, Denny says his name out loud to remember it, which refers to his possible Alzheimer's Disease or Mad Cow Disease.

James Spader (Alan Shore)
James Spader is Alan Shore. The character first appeared in the final season of The Practice and is one of the main characters in Boston Legal.I have always loved James Spader as an actor, and face it, he's definitely eye candy for the ladies!
He is considered an unethical attorney due to the sometimes questionable methods he uses to help his clients; however, Alan seems to be able to help his clients and fellow lawyers when no one else can, due to his quick wit and apparent lack of fear for the consequences of his illegal actions.
Alan also has some strange quirks. For reasons that have nothing to do with money, he does not have a home; he lives alone in a hotel room. He suffers regularly from dangerous sleepwalking associated with night terrors. Alan is attracted to mature, older women, although he routinely sleeps with younger women as well.
Candice Bergen (Shirley Schmidt)
Candice Bergen is Shirley Schmidt, a woman in late middle age, who together with Denny Crane and Edwin Poole, founded the show's fictional Boston law firm, Crane, Poole & Schmidt (as she puts it to young junior associates, "I'm Schmidt").I have always admired Candice Bergen as an actor, and think she is very talented.
She and Crane had a sexual/romantic relationship many years in the past, but now her chief role, aside from star litigator and top decision-maker, is to rein in Denny's excessive behavior and oversee damage control in the wake of his public statements.

Christian Clemenson (Jerry Espenson)
Christian Clemenson is Jerry Espenson, a recurring character in the series. He first appeared in the 2005 episode "Legal Deficits," in which he was also called "Hands" because of his awkward habit of keeping his hands stiffly attached to his thighs in front of him.Other bizarre characteristics include purring under his breath when he feels slighted and bouncing straight up when surprised. When he makes an incalculable or grievous error, he begins to "whoop" uncontrollably, almost to the point of hyperventilating.
Jerry is a brilliant lawyer who suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, which interferes with his ability to interact socially with other people, but also makes him a masterful interpreter of the law and its language.

Gary Anthony Williams (Clarence Bell)
Gary Anthony Williams is Clarence Bell, and actually had three egos. The first is his actual identity as Clarence. He also played the loud-mouthed and sassy woman Clarice and he portrayed his brother Clevant in an episode. He first appeared with Claire Simms and Alan Shore in the third season as a crossdresser who sues "her" company when they won't give him maternity leave were he to wish to adopt a child. Claire takes it upon herself to be his friend. She attempts to help him become comfortable in social situations without donning his extravagant personas
John Laroquette (Carl Sack)
John Larroquette is Carl Sack, who would join the cast in 2007 as a senior partner transferred from the New York offices of Crane, Poole & Schmidt.John is a welcome additional to the crew, he fits in perfectly. I always loved his character on Night Court!
