Bottlecap Pendant Supplies
Resin bottle cap pendant supplies
Supplies Needed:
1. stash of bottle caps
2. 1" scrapbook circle hole punch or sizzors & a steady hand
3. bottle cap collage sheet images or digital collage sheets & print yourself
4. glue
5. jump rings (6 mm recommended)
6. drill with small drill bit
7. jewelry chain
8. resin coating (Diamond Glaze, Envirotex lite, etc)

Removing Glue Seal from Bottlecaps
Melt glue seal off of bottle caps
If your bottlecaps have a glue seal like mine, you will need to remove this before starting. If you have a crafting heat gun, you can use that. If not, a candle flame will do. Just make sure you hold the bottle cap with pliers as the metal will get hot. Apply heat for a minute or two and glue seal should just peal off with stick or knife.

With the glue seal now removed, we can apply our image. You will want a 1" circle image. These are readily found in the form of collage sheets or digital collage sheets all over the internet.
For some free bottle cap images check out www.greatmusings.com where we have a free digital collage sheet for anyone to use in their crafting and it has some bottle cap 1" circles on it.
With a 1" scrapbooking hole punch or sizzors, cut out your image and glue it into the inside of the bottle cap where you removed the glue seal.

How to Flatten Bottlecaps
Bottle cap Necklaces
You can flatten or not flatten your bottlecaps...you can do this step 1st or after your image is in place, either works. If you choose this style, a rubber mat and hammer work just fine. Place the bottlecap flat side down, placing the rubber mat over (covering) the rough or "teeth" side. Gently hammer rubber mat evenly around the bottlecap until rough side folds over.

How to make bottle cap jewelry
Using your smallest drill bit drill a hole at the top of the cap. Some crafters use a nail, I find the drill works better and will not leave a rough edge or dent the bottlecap which can happen with a nail. Some crafters choose to nail/drill at the top of the image on the flat cap backing...again, I find the best place to place the hole is on the now flattened edge.

Sheild wet resin from dust particles
Apply your resin coating as per manufacturer's instructions, blow out any bubbles with a straw and cover while resin cures. I cover my pendants because the smallest dust particle can ruin a perfectly good resin craft.
