3. Just tastes better ;)

Anyone who wants to send me a bottle of Scotch to proove me wrong is more than welcome!!

Bourbon or Scotch and Why?

Yes, you're right!

Dan says:

Definitely a bourbon guy. My dad has always gotten Johnnie Walker Black Label, which is good Scotch, and I just can't drink it. Unfortunately atm I can't really afford top shelf bourbon, but Jim Beam While Label is a staple for me. Tried Makers Mark once and was highly impressed.

Dude says:

I'm a fan of Maker's Mark. Especially with a nice hand rolled dark leaf cigar. By the way - - - Tennessee whiskey is not bourbon whiskey, as defined by Title 27 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 1, Part 5, Section 5.22.

toastage says:

Scotch vs Bourbon? What about Irish? Or Canadian? (and I don't mean the varnish that is available in the States, I'm talking about top shelf Canadian whisky) I love them all, but scotch is tops.

JD says:

How could you not love a sweet, smooth bourbon. And by the way, popped, Jack Daniel's is Tennessee Whiskey, not Bourbon.

poppod says:

Bourbon of course. Jack Daniels.

grover says:

scotch is absolutely disgusting, bourbon is wonderful.

th says:

bourbon

JasonBlakely says:

Bourbon

No way, Monkeybrain!

Jason says:

Scotch Whisky, hands down. Something so superior cannot be simply be tossed down the hatch. One can take a shot of Jack, but a shot of scotch is unheard of, and there's a reason for that. Scotch is a pedigree among other dogs. I'm not knocking bourbon, I enjoy the bourbon drink once in a while, but Scotch is hands down far superior.

JT says:

I have both in my Whisk(e)y collection. I perfer scotch over bourbon

Oosquid says:

You can pour me a scotch or you can pour me a bourbon. But if I'm buying it's Scotch.

DrE says:

Scotch, next best from US is Rye IMO.

John says:

Scotch

Bourbon Whiskey Facts

Bourbon is an American whiskey, a type of distilled spirit, made primarily from corn and named for Bourbon County, Kentucky. It has been produced since the 18th century.

Legal requirements
On 4 May 1964, the U.S. Congress recognized Bourbon Whiskey as a "distinctive product of the United States," creating the Federal Standards of Identity for Bourbon. Federal regulations now stipulate that Bourbon must meet these requirements:

1. Bourbon must be made of a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn.

Scotch Whiskey Facts

Scotch whisky is whisky made in Scotland. In Britain, the term whisky is usually taken to mean Scotch unless otherwise specified. In other English-speaking countries, it is often referred to as "Scotch".

Scotch whisky is divided into four distinct categories: single malt, vatted malt (also called "pure malt"), blended and single grain.

Legal definition
To be called Scotch whisky the spirit must conform to the standards of the Scotch Whisky Order of 1990 (UK),[1] which clarified the Scotch Whisky Act of 1988,[2] and mandates that the spirit:

1. Must be distilled at a Scottish distillery from water and malted barley, to which only other whole grains may be added, have been processed at that distillery into a mash, converted to a fermentable substrate only by endogenous enzyme systems, and fermented only by the addition of yeast.
