Bournedale
Bournedale is a small village on the "mainland" side of the Cape Cod Canal along Route 6.
Buzzards Bay
No, Buzzards Bay is not home to actual buzzards. It was probably named after turkey vultures or osprey that were mistaken for buzzards. In Buzzards Bay, you can find the Mass Maritime Academy, which offers a great view of the western entrance to the Cape Cod Canal, as well as the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge.
Cataumet
This is another small village south of Pocasset, along Buzzards Bay in Bourne. There's an often photographed harbor in Cataumet that's worth seeing.
Monument Beach
Monument Beach is one of the Cape's most beautiful beaches, and faces Buzzards Bay. Just north of Pocasset and south of Mashnee Island, Monument Beach is easy to find along Bourne's Shore Road.
Pocasset
Pocasset is a quaint village on the western side of Bourne, south of Monument Beach. It has its own harbor with beautiful views of the bay. Pocasset also contains Wings Neck Light, a hexagonal lighthouse built in 1849.
Sagamore
Sagamore is found just over the Sagamore Bridge heading east onto Cape Cod. It is on the northern end of town, close to the canal.
Mashnee Island
Mashnee Island is connected by a long sand spit, with beautiful views of the Cape Cod Canal's entrance, as well as Monument Beach. This is a residential neighborhood without any parking to stop, so you'll need to keep moving here.
