Bowfishing Arrows, helpful information, tips and what we are using on the water

Bowfishing arrows are considerably heavier and stronger than arrows used in other types of archery and are most commonly constructed of 5/16" fiberglass, but solid aluminum, carbon fiber, and carbon fiber reinforced fiberglass are also used. Bowfishing arrows generally lack fletching, as it can cause the arrow to flare to one side or another underwater and they are not required at the relatively short ranges associated with bowfishing. Line is attached to the arrow by tying to a hole in the arrow shaft or through the use of a slide and slide stopper system.

How to Bowfish

Innerloc Pro Point, bowfishing tip

The Pro point has removable barbs and can be used as a practice point. The replaceable tip is kept tight by the use of an o-ring inside the point body.
The Pro Point's unique contoured shape and tight fitting barbs create a small hole in the fish and prevent arrow fall out. The wire barbs flip sideways as the fish swims and lock into place. Barbs are released by loosening the replaceable tip. This point also has a small o-ring under the tip to keep it from vibrating loose, and wire barbs that can be removed to make it a practice point. The quick release point is made for abuse with a replaceable tip and strong barbs. Loosen the tip and the barbs reverses. These are all in my bowfishing tackle box and all work very well in muddy and grassy Bowfishing environments.

The AMS Safety Slide is a proven performer time and time again with hundreds of thousands of fish taken, including many big game fish over 300#. Simply nock your arrow with the Safety Slide in front of your arrow rest. Tighten the line on your Retriever between the reel and the Safety Slide and push the line into the Line Retainer found on the side of your reel. As you draw, the Safety Slide will stay stationary as the arrow moves back. When the shot is released, the slide moves back to the tail of the arrow and stops at the Shock Pad allowing the line to trail for perfect arrow flight.
