Boy in a Rock and Roll Band: an Anti-Love Song
The Pierces take their sweet and innocent voices and sing unexpectedly dark or experienced songs. Boy in a Rock and Roll Band is no exception. What could have been a twee tribute to Justin Bieber turns, in their capable hands, into a sharp dismissal of the budding relationship. It's like some 60s girl group, all grown up.

The Pierces Explain Why This Love Cannot Be

How deep is your ocean?
How high is your sky?
I'd love to put our love into motion
But I'd have to ask myself why.
Well, I can't tell you how to live your life
But I know how to live mine.
I take home pretty things that I like
And, baby, you are so fine.
Yeah, I could give you everything you need
With just one touch of my hand,
But I swore I would never fall in love
With a boy in a rock & roll band.
Why do I adore you?
We've only just met.
I feel I would do anything for you
But baby, sometimes I forget
That I can't tell you how to live your life
But I know how to live mine.
I take home pretty things that I like
And baby, you are so fine.
Yeah, I could give you everything you need
With just one touch of my hand,
But I swore I would never fall in love
With a boy in a rock & roll band.
Well, I forget I'm a lady;
I've had too much wine.
I'd love it if you would call me your baby
Cause, baby, you are so fine.
But I can't tell ya how to live your life
But I know how to live mine.
I take home pretty things that I like
And, baby, you are so fine.
Yeah, I could give you everything you need

But I swore I would never fall in love

Boy in a Rock and Roll Band Music Video
The Pierces Haven't Made One, Yet.
This version is the Pierce sisters singing over music by The Transcenders, as the song was played for Gossip Girl on television. Personally, I don't think it's a good as the album version, but it's the only video available at the moment.
In the meantime, you can go over here and listen to the song and enjoy a attitude-filled photo of The Pierces, as well. Don't they look sweet?
