Anyone who has read the book by Anne Rice will already have known that this was an amazingly good read. The film however got a LOT of attention before it was even made when Rice announced that Tom Cruise shouldn't play the part of Lestat. Once the film came out though it was an instant hit and stormed the box office and even Rice had to say that Cruise had been fantastic! Pitt was not seen to be great in the film though and was criticised heavily for his roll.

This movie was the start of Brad Pitt and his movie star career though and talk of his poor acting were quickly forgotten.

Legends of the Fall (Special Edition)

If anyone has not watched this Brad Pitt film then they should do it as soon as possible! It is probably one of the best examples of his acting ability out there. Even though the plot is set through WWI, the amazing way that both Hopkins and Pitt bring the feeling of their parts to the screen is nothing short of genius.

Get the tissues out though as this one is moving!

Seven (Single Disc Edition)

This movie was a really great film for all Brad Pitt fans, not only did he play the flawed detective well, he was able to leave his 'pretty boy' parts behind him which he was more than willing to do. The film shows two detectives on the trail of a serial killer who is murdering people based on the seven deadly sins.

12 Monkeys (Special Edition)

Although this film was hailed one of Bruce Willice's finest acting moments, it was his role in twelve monkeys that saw him get nominated for an oscar! Wacky and sometimes a little scarey, Brad Pitt makes this film his own with his role.

Twelve Monkeys went on to get major praise but it was Janet Maslin of the New York Times that was quoted as saying that Brad Pitt was "fierce and disturbing" and gave a "startlingly frenzied performance". It showed that Brad could do much more than be the 'pretty boy' that he wanted to leave behind.

Sleepers

Considered by many a great film, Sleepers got mixed reviews and so did Brad Pitt in this movie. Sometimes it's better to just let others decide for themselves what they think of a film. For Brad Pitt diehard fans it wouldn't matter what he did as an actor but this film just gives you a feel that it's not been done too well on most counts!

The Devil's Own

Whilst the critics are claiming that Brad is not doing to great with his role choices, others are seeing that to take on the roll of an Irishman and pull off the accent so well, he clearly must be a talented actor. With opinions clearly divided over Brads roll in The Devils Own, the whole film took a slating with the critics.

Covering the story of the Irish terrorists and those who sympathise it can often be a tense watch. Overall though, the film is one to watch on a quiet TV night.

Seven Years in Tibet

In order to take on the role Brad had to train for months in order to be able to take on the challenges of mountain climbing. A film that probably wouldn't have made it to production had it not been for Brad taking on the role, the film was considered a failure by almost everyone.

This film actually did nothing much but confirm to the critics that Brad Pitt perhaps wasn't the serious actor that many claimed he was. Of course, the fans knew better and refused to believe that Brad was losing his golden touch.

Meet Joe Black

Amazon Price: $3.44 (as of 05/29/2012)

Meet Joe Black saw Brad back on the big screens in a film showcasing what it meant to be human. The film was ulimately a box office flop but most damaging was the critics slatting of Brad Pitts 'unconvincing' performance.

It was thought at the time that it meant the end for Brad Pitts movie career was well and truely underway.

Fight Club

Anyone who was starting to believe that Brad Pitt was failing fast as an actor were very wrong! Fight Club as a film was released to mixed reviews but everyone was commenting on how great Brad Pitt was in the movie. Unlike previous films that took a battering in the papers, Fight Club was released on DVD and quickly became a CULT film with Pitt being hailed one of the finest actors of our time.

Doubts that Brad was on his way out were quickly pushed away with his performance in fight club and the work that he put into his role was clear for everyone to see.

Snatch (Widescreen Edition)

When Snatch was released into the UK, no one could stop talking about Brad's performance and his Irish accent! Directed by Guy Ritchie, he knew that Brad would be perfect for the role and wasn't disappointed. With the success of fight club, Snatch now showcased Brad and the lengths he would go to in order to make the role perfect.

In Snatch, he plays the part of an Irish traveller and even the Irish had a hard job understanding what he was saying the accent was that good. His body took on the desired look for the part and although he clearly leaves his pretty boy image behind, its still quite impressive to look at!

The Mexican

After the major success that Fight Club and Snatch had, The Mexican seemed to let Brad down again. Although his acting wasn't really called into question, the film just didn't reach the expectations that were still running high. Yes, it was a box office seller, but it's probably not going to be remembered as one of his finest moments.

Spy Game (Widescreen Edition)

Brad Pitt teams up with actor Robert Redford in this action packed CIA film. Although generally well recieved, the actors both took some slack when it was said that they didn't really connect with the audience on an emotional level.

Ocean's Eleven (Full Screen Edition)

As Brad comes to life in this seriously good film, its clear to see why Brad got his title in the first place - now a serious actor and no questions asked!

With a massive line up of stars, the film took more than 450$ milion worldwide!

Troy - Director's Cut (Two-Disc Special Edition)

Still riding high, Brad takes this role as his own and makes the film an instant epic!

Brooding and muscle bound, Pitt brings so much to the film that you should watch it just for his six-pack alone!

Ocean's Twelve

Just about one of the only sequelles that's ever been able to rival the first. Many have spoken about the chemistry between Clooney and Pitt as the best male chemistry since Redford and Newman.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Widescreen Edition)

Lets just not talk about the personal aspects of this film and Brad's private life. Mr & Mrs Smith came out and showed us that if the actors involved could create chemistry as sizzling as these two could, it really didn't matter if the film was that good!

OK, so the film might not have been out of this world but it did become one of the years biggest box office success stories.

Babel

Brad got serious brownie points for his role in this film. It was said that this was the best decission of his acting career to star in this film.

This is the only Brad Pitt Film that I have yet to see. For some unknown reason I have never watched it.

When it was released it was nominated for a lot of awards - Pitt got several himself and won critial acclaim.

Loved this film!

Certainly one that I wouldn't have thought of for Brad Pitt but one that Tarantino knew would work. Brad agreed to play the part whilst drinking large amounts one night with Tarantino - worked out well for both of them. It was a box office hit and got nominated for several awards.
