BRAD PITT'S TATTOOS

Whatever their reasons, they operate in the world via some consistent, broad, global, open-minded themes. I wouldn't simply expect many other Hollywood stars to even know about the things Brad and Angelina adore. Their tattoos are all quite unique and surely meaningful to them. Our understanding of these tattoos (or the lack of it) does not change a thing about what drove them to have these tattoos imprinted on their celebrated bodies. I personally believe they are both driven by some deeply felt philosophies and emotions. I find that to be a good goal in life - finding a higher meaning of our daily lives, and celebrating our enlightenment.

If it is Brad Pitt, anything can become a sensation. As you can see in the photo above, there is a tattoo at his back which recently created quite a bit of media frenzy. To some people it looked like a map of New Orleans, though quite poorly drawn. Further imaginations ensued and there was firm belief in some communities that the tattoo indeed signified the downed levees that caused the Katrina catastrophe. A second school of thought emerged linking the tattoo to the city streets that made the French Quarter in New Orleans!

Well, mathematicians say if the first step is wrong then everything is bound to be wrong. I'm here to tell you it's not a map of New Orleans, at least it was not meant to be. As it turns out Angelina had nothing better to do one evening and practiced "art" on Brad. Being a gentleman, he allowed. That's it.

No one, including me, is still sure what the human outline means on Brad Pitt's left forearm. But many people think it is Europe's oldest mummy, Otzi. It is believable enough because a) Brad actually visited this place and b) The tattoo at least looks like that, with no color other than the border of black ink.

Otzi was found in an Italian glacier in 1991, and his age is estimated to be 5300 years. But why celebrate the glorified mummy? Brad is still quiet on that. But my hunch is he always had an interest in afterlife, and one day he actually came to Squidoo and read my lens on Chinese Terracotta Warriors to collect his share of inspiration. This is about a great Chinese emperor (arguably the greatest of all times), who built a whole necropolis and a 8000 strong terracotta army to safeguard his earthly and spiritual interests after his death, and until time stops.

Brad really loves Angelina, no doubt about it. So much so that he even tattooed her birthdate in Khmer on his stomach. A unique and permanent way to show his affection, I think.

Khmer is the official language of Cambodia.

Brad Pitt's Lower Left Back Tattoo - Does such a thing exist? Has anyone seen it? And did a subset of those who spotted it took a picture of it? These are questions to the world. Apparently he has a few words written in Sanskrit, rumored to be blessings for his son.

Brad and Angie have time and again showed fascination for "Sanskrit". So I thought its worthwhile spending two minutes on that.

Sanskrit is a pure product of ancient India, the liturgical language of Hinduism and Buddhism. It is the only language in the world where the order of the words in a sentence is completely irrelevant to the meaning of the sentence. It is a language of the past though. What used to matter in Sanskrit was the "pronunciation" of the words. If you read up about the core of Hinduism you will find that a particular sound ("OM") defines the universe, not any of the thirty three million gods and goddesses that were used to (and still being used to) bring discipline to the "common people", a pretty common theme practiced in ALL organized religions of the world.

What's interesting is - If you also read up the most cutting edge research in Quantum Physics, world's foremost scientists will tell you something similar, that it is sound, or in other words "vibration", that defines the "Ultimate Theory" of the universe!
