Braid is unique 2D puzzle game developed by independent software developer Jonathan Blow for the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade service. The title was officially released on August 6, 2008 and is scheduled to be available on the PC via digital download, but no release date for this version of the game has been announced.

Braid is played by solving physical puzzles in a somewhat standard platform game environment like Super Mario Bros. with jumping and enemies. One of the main game elements is the player's ability to reverse time and "rewind" one's actions, even after dying. The game is divided into seven worlds, including an overworld in the form of the main character's house.(read more)

Braid levels montage

Not only does this game look awesome, it reminds me of the good old sidescrolling-action SNES years but with a more complex and inovative puzzle theme to it. It doesn't look too graphic-heavy for the Wii at all.

Poll: Braid vs. Portal

I'm seeing many people comparing the two games. They are both ingenious puzzle games yet that aren't exactly what they seem at first glance. I'm a fan of both since they have great (well at least interesting) stories and are amazing games. Vote for the one you prefer.

The Soundtrack to Braid

Many people have been saying they like the music in Braid, and would like to get a hold of the soundtrack.

Here's a list of the tracks in Braid.

Other puzzle games you'll love

If I wanted to just kill hours on the computer, I would play solitaire or sudoku. However, with these games, what I wanted was what I got -- an exciting and challenging set of puzzles with a surprisingly compelling plot as a bonus. While it costs 15$ and only lasting about 4 to 6 hours, I can honestly say it is one of the best games I have recently played.

There are games that are fun to play, and then there are games that are so incredibly ingenious and exciting that you lack the vocabulary to describe it. The bridge in the painting was great innovation! I would have never thought of something like that xD
