Sounds really fantastic. I have a grandson that has a form of adhd. He's 17 now. do u think this would benefit him? He has a hard time reading, he's ok in math but i'm sure this would benefit him in his comprehension and focus. And yes u r right about diminishing brain fire as u age. I'm thinking of getting this for myself. I also have 2 other grandchildren who will be coming of school age soon. \my daughter is a teacher so i'll have to talk to her & see if she's heard of this. Thanks it gives me hope.

Yes, this could definitely help him. It probably wouldn't be ideal for him to participate in a program like this in a classroom setting, but for a one-on-one approach it could do wonders. He can work the program at his own pace, which will be important for his ADHD. As long as he is persistent, it will improve his comprehension & focus.

I think this lens itself presents 'Brainetics' in good light. Very well put together and comprehensive with well made points. Good work and I am flattered that you liked my 'Brain Training' lens. You clearly know your subject.

sounds awesome even for my self, as i don't feel that confident with figures my self being a 61model maths was never one of my strongest points at school.Though want to do something for my grand children. One thing concerns me though are or does Brainetics show the child how to work the sum out and not just the answer otherwise an awesome product.

If you're planning on getting Brainetics for your grandchild, they should already have a grasp of the multiplication tables. The course isn't designed to replace long-hand math taught in school, but rather supplement it.

They should continue to practice normal repetition of methods taught in schools, however having the tools taught in Brainetics will get them to the sum right away, thus allowing them recheck their work if the end result isn't matching up.

Bear in mind, Brainetics is so much more than just math tricks. It's great for teaching memory recall strategies too!

"What I've discovered over the years is that regardless whether children currently like school or not, they want to be good at it." This view is so essential for educators. Kids want to do well. When they are not performing at their best, we have to ask why and not assume they don't want to succeed. Thank you for the insight!

I don't believe they have a Spanish version, but the principles work just the same.

  • Farkhof Aug 31, 2011 @ 9:29 pm | delete
just wondering, how early can kids doing this...
  • HelpKidsExcel Aug 31, 2011 @ 10:58 pm | delete
They should have a decent grasp of the multiplication tables. Most schools traditionally start introducing multiplication in the 3rd grade, usually around age 9. Some schools may very well begin sooner.

Have been using this for a month now and the improvement in my son's attitude to school and confidence has been huge. This change in him alone made the product value for money for me. Thanks so much I just wish this programme could be taught in all New Zealand schools as well.
  • HelpKidsExcel Aug 31, 2011 @ 5:40 pm | delete
I agree. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

Super excited to get started on this with my kids. Thanks so much for such a great & honest review! I feel so much more confident now on what to expect and how to get the most out of it.
  • Walter Clarke Aug 6, 2011 @ 10:23 pm | delete
I appreciate how you set reasonable expectations for Brainetics. It's not a magic pill to make you a math genius over night, but it is a fun and effective system that can get you better at math, faster.
  • Anne Fingleton Aug 6, 2011 @ 6:06 pm | delete
Thank you for this wonderful idea. I'm looking forward to learning math with my children :)
  • andreazarateify Aug 5, 2011 @ 6:38 pm | delete
Looking at the survey "Which Area Does Your Child Need Help With Most?", it's not surprising focus is the #1 challenge. Adults have that problem too!
  • daniellaroche Aug 4, 2011 @ 6:07 am | delete
I commend you on Brainetics. It helps parents interact and grow closer to their children, and have fun with math at the same time. Quite an accomplishment!
  • robertammon Aug 3, 2011 @ 6:59 pm | delete
It's remarkable how children can solve tough math problems in their head with the Brainetics system. I'm impressed!
  • LeonaBurdick Aug 2, 2011 @ 4:34 pm | delete
I've noticed from one of your polls that adults are interested in using Brainiacs for themselves . Nice to know I'm not alone!
  • debraraymer Aug 1, 2011 @ 6:40 am | delete
Kids who have a tough time with math don't have to feel inferior to others anymore. I wish I had this when I was a kid!
  • Cindi Jul 30, 2011 @ 9:56 pm | delete
I imagine Brainetics would be good as a kind of math refresher course for adults.
  • nikki May 19, 2012 @ 3:40 pm | delete
not only a refresher but teaches you new ways to learn !! there is math tricks
  • brianholmes01 Jul 29, 2011 @ 8:11 am | delete
The key to learning is making it fun, especially a subject like math which is often taught without much creativity. Brainetics looks super-fun. A huge accomplishment. Kudos to you guys!
  • AndyGarcia Jul 28, 2011 @ 12:21 pm | delete
Great concept here. I'd imagine these thinking skills that can be carried over into other subjects as well.
  • wordstock Jul 21, 2011 @ 1:43 pm | delete
Normally I do not waste time on product lenses but this is well done and I am interested. We are new to homeschooling and I am suddenly interested in a lot of new things. Good job.
