- Excellent advice for anyone. Especially when information, good or bad, is disseminated so quickly via the Internet.

- Thanks for sharing. Many companies forget that their day to day actions are more important in maintaining their brand position than their marketing communications.

- Very informative lens. I totally agree that it is more important than ever for small growing companies, even single person shops, should develop brand. It can go a long way to building credibility even if you don't have a long list of testomonials.

- Thank you, HLady and B&C. Yes, a brand at any moment in time reflects the level of trust that an audience has in a particular organization or product . . . regardless of how much has been spent on advertising that org or product. The brand-image elements (logo, tagline, etc) are just one category of ways to build that trust. Nice job, HLady, with the Woodstock lens--I just enjoyed it and commented on it.

- I agree that branding equals trust and in this day and age trust is very important. Good information on the connection between the 2.

- Hello there you wonderful comment-ers! Thank you all very much for taking the time to read this lens, and even more for commenting on it. FYI, I just added some live links to it, got the eBay items and Plaxo voting set up, and revised the text a bit here and there. Hope these moves will make it an even better read. Thanks again for getting the ball rolling on comments!

- Very good points. I believe the non-MarCom factors will have even greater impact on brand awareness and image than the traditional ones of logo, design, etc. in this Attention Age. Those were striking examples you gave above, and it was hard to choose among them! Certainly, with web 2.0, everyone can be involved and visible - and it seems you will have a "non-brand" if you aren't! It's a double-edged sword. The exposure of your personality and intents can make or break your brand.

Branding is just as important for a Minipreneur as it is for Fortune 500 companies. Unfortunately many small businesses do not understand the importance of nor how to go about Branding. Thanks for the info.
