What is a RocketMom?

RocketMoms is a gathering of the smartest women on the web, working together to make Squidoo lenses (and a whole lot more). RocketMoms are moms, grandmas, step-mothers, moms of multiples and every type of mom you can imagine. The main point is to meet each other, get creative with new lenses, and have fun.

Each RocketMom has been through the 6 week challenge where they made 6 lenses over 6 weeks. Through the challenge the RocketMoms get daily tips and lesson on how to make a great lens. They have their own private forum to help each other out. The inspiration, support and feedback they give each other is just incredible.

It doesn't matter if you have 1 lens or 1,000, if you are a Giant Squid or not, if you are a soon-to-be-mom or great-grandmother. If you are a mom and you like to work in a small group to learn all about Squidoo lenses, then maybe this is for you.

I graduated from RocketMoms in December 2009. I have enjoyed this group so much. Being apart of RocketMoms has taught me more about Squidoo and making lenses than anything else. It's a great group of women that not only help each other with Squidoo, but with anything life throws at us.

RocketMoms - Session 4

Shopping with the RocketMoms

I didn't know anything about the RocketMoms until they were about to begin the 4th session. I was invited to participate in a "Try It" week first. I loved it and couldn't wait to begin the real challenge.

Session 4 of RocketMoms was a special Holiday "Shopping with the RocketMoms" Session. A total of 62 RocketMoms completed the challenge and created over 700 lenses. I am very proud to have been part of the RocktMoms success.

Unique Gifts

Week 1

Week 1 of the Rocket Moms challenge was Unique Gifts. I chose the Blanket with Sleeves mainly because I wanted one really bad. Not long after making the lens my husband came home with my very own pink Snuggie.

Food, Cooking, Recipes, & Kitchen Gifts

Week 2

Week 2 of the Rocket Moms challenge was about holiday food. The Top 10 Holiday Side Dish Recipes is a charity lens and made Lens of the Day on November 25, 2009.

I wrote this lens with recipes from my favorite side dishes we have for holidays. So my grandmother doesn't have to do all the cooking for my rather large family, we delegate different people to bring different dishes. When it's time to eat there are many delicious dishes to choose from.

Big Ticket Items

Week 3

Week 3 of the Rocket Moms challenge we had to do a Big Ticket Item. I wasn't really sure what I was going to write about this week. Someone I work with had been talking about wanting to get the new Kindle DX so that's what I went with.

Holiday Decorations

Week 4

Week 4 of the Rocket Moms challenge was Holiday Decorations. At my house Rudolph is a popular decoration. We have a big blow up Rudolph snow globe that sits in my front yard along with other reindeer decorations.

The Biggest, Baddest Toy & Game Lens EVER!

Week 5

Week 5 of the Rocket Moms challenge we came up with some awesome toys. My children were getting a trampoline from santa. While looking for the trampoline they would get, I saw water trampolines. How cool is that? A trampoline for the water! So I had to do a lens on water trampolines.

Escape For the Holidays

Week 6

For week 6 we named different places that would be great to go for the holidays. Although I have never been to Graceland, I would love to go there sometime around Christmas.

RocketMoms - Session 5

RocketMoms - Session 5 was my second session to participate in. A total of 43 RocketMoms completed the 6 week challenge and created over 700 lenses. It was a lot of fun as we created a Niche Hobby Lens, a Food & Cooking Lens, a Music Lens, a Ask a Question Lens, a SquidQuiz, a Travel Lens, and as extra credit a Valentine's Day Lens.
