I Will Tell You A Story Of A Man That Changed Our History His Name Is William Wallace Some Will Call Me A Liar But The Truth Cannot Be Wiped Out Because Heroes Live On And Become Legends......

Braveheart portrays William Wallace A Legendary Hero is brilliantly acted out in this Film albeit subsequently betrayed in the Film Scottish fellowmen alike.

William Wallace his bravery, courage and his deep need to turn Scotland back on course and into the future of History.

Never was there a braver man to be able to fight against so many odds.

Below are the reasons I have put together this lens about William Wallace to pay tribute to a Man ahead of his time in bravery and in courage and in tenacity.
Note the information written here is based on the Film that was made about Braveheart whilst there are some historical research bits which I have put in myself.
But on the whole it is the essence of the happenings that went on in that time that counts. A really enjoyable Film historical but very entertaining.

Edward The First was a Pagan King in the sense he was not the true King of Scotland when "The Maid of Norway" Princess Margaret died in 1290 thereabouts there was no living claimant to the Throne of Scotland as her brother Prince Alexander had died in January 1284.
This was to strike the first match setting off all the "Fireworks" that would inevitably come later. This is how Longshanks took the Throne of Scotland he began a saga that was to last almost right up to this very day.

Although History can sometimes be very misleading the short end tail to these happenings are more or less what is supposed to have happened. It is said that three of Edward the First´s Children had already died and it seems that he had quite a few others that were born out of wedlock around the Country.
It is´nt really clear whether any of these children were old enough to take the throne.
Known as Longshanks tall very handsome king would turn many a womans head in those times and today I guess. As a complement he was cruel and ruthless came to be known as the "Hammer Of The Scots"
To humiliate the Scots even more than what he was doing he had "The Stone Of Scon" took down and laid in Westminster Abbey in London.
When Margaret had died which took place in the "Orkney Islands" just off the Coast of Scotland a crowd of thirteen wouldbe kings turned up claiming their rights to the Throne the first being of the Clan Balliol. But Longshanks was having none of that.

Young William Wallace Climbs Up OnTo A Horse Much Bigger Than Himself

Still Trying To Get Into The Saddle His Father Malcolm Lifts Him off The Horse......

Young William protesting Och I can fight, you know I can fight I want to go with you.
Malcolm Wallace places William back on the ground and replies I know you can fight but I need you to stay here.
In spite of all the protests William shrugs as his Father and Brother rub their hands through his hair.

A Begining For Young William Wallace That Will Have No End Rather Just The Begining Of A Silent War That Still Has Its Echo Even

When William Gave Into Sleep That Night He Did Not Realise That This Day Would Turn His Life And The Lives Of The People Of Scotland Around.....

Young William had eventually given into sleep with his head resting on the Table being too tired to go to bed.
When he wakes up early the next morning he rubs his eyes stretches himself up to his full height and wanders outside expecting to find his Father Malcolm and his Brother working.
William calls out to his Father. A long silence and the echoes of Williams voice hung in the air. No answer came to his calls and William began to worry.
He began his chores slowly with no heart in his work. Suddenly he heard Horses coming and without looking around he knew in that moment what had happened. Sick to the stomach William tries to turn around with tears stinging his eyes. He knew that his Father and Brother were both dead.
Williams Uncle took William with him to live with him and train him as a Soldier this is where the "revenge" begins.........

William Wallace A Brave Man Forced To Take Up A Battle That Would Turn The Course of History Both For Scotland Itself And Great

Who Indeed Would Not Have Loved BraveHeart William Wallace Set To Be A Legend In His Own Time And For The Future.....

Apart from being of Irish and Scottish descent Braveheart was a Hero, not forgetting Robert The Bruce who existed at that time too.
Braveheart believed in his fellowmen and Robert The Bruce.
These are the three reasons to love Braveheart in the Film of course.
Braveheart fought passionately and bravely.
His ending is one to be remembered of what should never have happened.
In the Dvd of Braveheart which you have to see Mel. Gibson narrates about different parts of the Film and the History of Braveheart himself. Mel. Gibson is very interesting to listen to. He tells you about some of the Actors in the Film that are first time ever Actors. All of them are local for example the young Child who played the part of William Wallace as a Boy is from Ayrshire and he is a first time Actor in this Film it was his debut. Just amazing what an amazing little Boy.
Who would have not wanted to be the Princess at that time. Of course I am only talking about the Film itself, The real story comes close enough.
Well going into all that is going into Politics and that is not my intention.
Mel. Gibson was majestic in the Film along with Catherine McCormack, Sophie Marceau, and of course that beloved rogue of Longshanks alias Patrick McGoohan wow what a guy.
David O´Hara also played out a good part as the whacky Irishman yeh Ireland is mine too.
The unbelievable cruelty they rendered on these People is not something I want to harp on either so it is a good job that there are plenty of romantic overtones that balances Braveheart out very well.
What a waste that was throwing that handsome guy with the lovely green eyes out of the Window. He was really handsome. But apart from that the Music of the Films tells a Story that some will identify with in some way. Fantastic music.
Sir William Wallace was a man that has never been forgotten in his Native Scotland. There was a Book written about him in which a man called "Blind Harry" who was a sort of wandering Minstrel in those times telling or singing the story of William Wallace and his famous life. Born more or less between 1270/75. He was the second Son of Sir. Malcolm Wallace of Elderslie in Renfrewshire.
William had two other Brothers and elder brother Malcolm and the younger one John. His Fathers name was Alan.
Wallace´s first known happening came about in 1297 when he stabbed the English Governor of Lanark to death because the Governor was the person who had Wallaces Wife murdered in retalliation.
The whole thing somehow snowballed into such action that William Wallace soon found himself with an albeit ragtag army but obstinate and determined to throw the English Tyrants out of Scotland.
William and his men won a Battle in Stirling on the River Forth. But as in all lives there is always someone willing to trip you up and play the Judas part. So after being in some kind of exile for a time William travelled abroad to seek help from the Pope and returned to Scotland in 1303.
William once again tried to gain support but the odds were against him from the word go. He was arrested in Robroyston near Glasgow and his famous Sword left in Dumbarton.
He was then taken down to London. William had no fair trial considering Edward the First was the founder of all those Laws of Justice and Compassion that still stand today from his time.
It is indeed ironic to think that Edward the First would at least have given him a fair trial. None of that he was taken out to Smithfield Elms dragged there by Horses for about six miles his death came about in 1305 on August 23rd.
Today in the place where he died more or less situated is a monument in his honour.
Although there is no body for William to be buried in proper burial ground Sir. William Wallace lives on in the heart of the Scottish People even today. I don´t mention how he died because this is one of the most barbaric things heard of.
Below is what "Sir Winston Churchill" wrote about him.
"Wallace had behind him the spirit of a race as stern and as resolute as bred among men. He added military gifts of a high order.
Out of an unorganized mass of valiant fighting men he forged, in spite of cruel poverty and primitive administration, a stubborn, indomitable army ready to fight at any odds and mock defeat" this was written by "Sir Winston Churchill"
This is a tribute to all brave people that rebel against tyranny and slavery. This is a tribute for Freedom of Heart, Soul and Mind. Also a tribute for those who have suffered betrayal for fighting for their truth whatever the truth and got struck by an arrow in the shoulder like Wallace did in the Film being betrayed by those
who he thought supported him in his darkest hour.
Fortunately there is a justice that goes beyond human comprehension.....where I come from there is a motto or whatever you might like to call it "Out of Darkness Cometh Light".

Braveheart at a Glance

FOR THE LOVE OF A PRINCESS

That part of the Film of the Princess in love with Braveheart in the Film of course is what I like the most. I cannot stand to watch the end of this Films as it is too sad. Reminds of all those old Romantic Films with Actors like Robert Taylor and those beautiful blue eyes of his lol.

Braveheart is a 1995 Academy-award winning action-drama film produced and directed by Mel Gibson, who also starred in the title role. The film was written for screen and then novelized by Randall Wallace. Gibson portrays the legendary Scot, William Wallace, who gained recognition when he came to the forefront of the First War of Scottish Independence by opposing Edward I of England, also known as Edward the Longshanks, (portrayed by Patrick McGoohan) and subsequently abetted by Edward's daughter-in-law Princess Isabelle (played by Sophie Marceau) and a claimant to the Scottish throne, Robert t...
