A mastiff and blood hound mixture. Can you imagine? These attractive mastiff dogs can sniff out something as well as being as gentle as possible . They are breed in from Brazil and have the original name of Fila Brasileiro. when first imported , they were made to watch out for the plantations, then they were later brought to the United States by a gang called the Conquistador

This loving breed weigh roughly 100 pounds or sometimes more and they stand about 27-30 inches tall. They have the hound dog look in the face with a thick neck. They have short fur that is very easy to manage . Their colours are varied . You may want one that is reddish tan, or maybe black or maybe even yellow. Then there is the most expensive and that happens to be brindle.

The bone makeup on the Brazilian Mastiff helps it to run faster with the ability to attack if need be . They are well known for their courage and also for the fact that they possess the ability to stand alerted at all times . Despite their aggressive nature towards strangers , they have been known to possess a loving nature with small children. .

Their natural hunting instincts come from the bloodhound side of the family . They are used in hunting. The word Fila means 'to hold', in Portuguese . What they do is sniff out the animal that is being hunted , catch it and hold it while waiting for their master to return.

Another one of their unique tasks were to track down slaves that had run away . The word 'fila' means 'to hold' in Portuguese. Along with their fantastic hunting and holding, the Brazil dog can even run very fast and are able to gallop to the fullest .

In fact, the Brazilian Mastiff is well known to not like strangers at all. It doesn't matter if they are intruders or not. You have to be spend loads of time with them when they are puppies and as they grow up if you plan on becoming someone they will not attempt to attack or become aggressive towards. Very loyal to his family and will be as gentle as he could be around Kids

Despite the way they are with people they don't know, the Brazilian Mastiff is extremely gentle and loving towards the people he knows. He is also very protective of and extremely loyal to his master . Keep in mind that the Brazilian Mastiff will attack strangers . It is their basic instinct to attack when they feel scared or cannot trust the one who is unknown to him.

When searching for a puppy it is highly recommended to get as much information from the breeders stable as possible. go along to dog shows and visit the homes of private breeders to see the kennels . Do not limit your search to one kennel. Make sure that you ask as many questions as you want. if the stable is confident about the pedigree of their dogs they will be more than happy to give you all the answers to your questions, do look around and do not just buy the first one you see, there are many breeders so you have the choices.
