Breakfast in a shot glass: How to make drinks that taste like breakfast foods
Ranked #866 in Food & Cooking, #17,216 overall
Breakfast and Booze
I believe that some of the best alcoholic beverages are inspired by food. Breakfast foods, in particular, translate well into alcoholic drinks, and make for surprisingly delicious, easy-to-make novelty creations. Impress your friends - serve them breakfast in a shot glass.

Wild Berry Pop-Tart Shot
Are you a fan of pre-packaged breakfast goods? If so, you may enjoy the Wild Berry Pop-Tart Shot, which tastes just like a sugar-loaded faux-fruit flavored toaster oven confection.Wild Berry Pop-Tart Shot
1 part Wildberry Vodka
1 part Vodka
1 part Strawberry Schnapps
This shot can be enjoyed chilled or at room temperature. For room temperature, pour all ingredients together and stir gently. For chilled, pour all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice and shake. Pour into a shot glass, shoot, followed promptly with a beer. Enjoy!
Don't have strawberry schnapps on hand? The beauty of this recipe is that several different schnapps flavors can be used to craft a berry-flavored pop-tart shot suited to your personal preference. I recommend trying this recipe with cherry schnapps, blueberry schnapps, and raspberry schnapps.
Note: Not a substitute for breakfast.
Jam Donut Shot
Enjoy jam-filled donuts? Then you'll love this shot! Appropriately dubbed the Jam Donut Shot, this drink tastes just like a raspberry-flavored jam-filled bakery confection.Jam Donut Shot
2/3 oz. Irish cream
1/3 oz. Raspberry Liqueur
1 tsp. Simple Syrup or Grenadine
2 pinches Sugar
Coat the rim of a shot glass with sugar using simple syrup (grenadine) to stick. Add raspberry liqueur to the shot glass, and carefully layer the Irish Cream on top. If raspberry is not your "filling" of choice, experiment with other liquers (cherry, strawberry, etc.). Enjoy!
A word of caution: once mixed, this shot will curdle. Carefully layer ingredients on top of one another and consume immediately. To achieve a well-layered shot, the key is to slowly pour the ingredients over the back of a spoon.
To make simple syrup, simply (ha!) dissolve sugar in hot water and let cool. Use a 1:1 ratio for a thinner syrup; this can be quickly made sans stove top by shaking sugar and hot water in a bottle until the sugar has dissolved.
Note: Not a substitute for breakfast.
Fruity Pebbles shot
Yep, I'm referring to the Flintstones cereal here.
Remember Fruity Pebbles? That brightly-colored, imitation fruit-flavored cereal that stains milk an unnatural shade? If you were a fan of this cereal as a child (or still are!), then you'll love this shot! Appropriately dubbed the Fruity Pebble Shot, this drink tastes just like the popular Flintstones-themed cereal. An homage to the most important meal of the day, in a celebratory shot.Fruity Pebble Shot
1 1/2 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Blue Curacao
1 dash Grenadine
1 part Milk
Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake. Can be enjoyed as a shot or on the rocks.
(Alternate) Fruity Pebble Shot
1 part Blue Curacao
1 part Raspberry Schnapps
2 parts Milk
Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake. Can be enjoyed as a shot or on the rocks.
A word of caution: I recommend consuming immediately as a shot as opposed to sipping it slowly as the milk may begin to curdle over time.
Note: Not a substitute for breakfast.

- Love your lens and will have to try some of these. I became familiar with the pancake shot this past fall - the jameson, butterscotch schnapps chased with OJ version. Love them - yum!
