Fairy Tale Ending - Loved It!

A Fairy Tale Ending

b.kidd says:

To the critics of Stephenie Meyer.... Literature is a personal choice. You can like her style or hate it. She apparently did something right... look @ all those book sales. Not a bad money maker considering the books, the movies, the collectibles etc. As for the ending of the story...it was appropriate. I loved the oneness of Bella & Edward but I hated that the story had to end.

Diana says:

i like to see more movies like this one with the same star in it. They did work will together.

Noemi says:

LOVED IT.I nread the book n im going 2 watch the movie.

Carleigh says:

I really liked it but, what i dont understand is why Jacob imprinted on Renesmee? In the books it talks about how the only reason the wolves imprint is because the girl/guy they imprint on has the best chance on passing on the gene. The WOLF gene. So how does a half human/vampire child have the best chance to pass on a wolf gene??
Besides that i really liked it :)

Anonymous says:

BD could be the best conclusion ever. It is a journey of Bella from a high-school girl to wife to mother. It is interesting. :)
I liked every part of BD.
Stephenie never mentions about vampires (males) not being able to have kids. And she has explained this part. But, I am still not convinced as to why females can not conceive likewise. However I choose to go with her flow of story and convince myself that it is possible.
I appreciate that the final Volturi confrontation was more of a mental battle rather then an actual bloody battle. I did prefer it to be a happy ending with no lives lost. I did cried when Fred/Lupin/Tonks die during the Hogwarts battle in Deathly Hallows.
If a battle then it would have been an uneven battle. More of Bella's team would have lost their lives than the Volturi and it would have been a serious sad ending. If Edward-Bella-Reneesme do survive with nearly the rest of their families dead it wouldn't be a happy ending or happy ever after.
The mental battle was great. :)
The middle part of Jacob's narration was amazing. I took to liking Jacob during that phase. It was wonderful to know Edward through Jacob's head. :)
Regarding the imprinting I didn't like it. Becoz I never really did like Jacob as versus Edward. Was always irritated with Bella for her confusions. But in the end I did like it. Love is always blind. :) It explains Bella's feeling for Jacob the best. :) A part of her always liked him and physically that part transforms into her daughter. :)
It is amazing how Edward deals with it. :) Bella was always concerned about Jacob as in away for a family member. There couldn't have been a better translation to that feeling. :)
All in all I loved BD and the other books. Eclipse and Twilight being my favs. :)
I liked the journey of Bella from a girl to a mother. Its just not a college love story. It is about commitment, choice, friendship, family-bonds, and love. How the love-bond between Edward and Bella matures with time. :)

Twisagaphilosopher says:

To start off, the book was a little....weird. HOWEVER, I felt that it wrapped up nicely and Edward's last words made me smile. I know some people think the whole Bella becoming a vampire thing was predictable, but I have to say...duh...from the end of the first book she made it clear that was what she wanted. Kudos to Stephanie for ending it that way, I mean how many other vampire love stories have there been where the human never becomes a vampire? It was different, and I liked that we got to spend time with Bella as a vampire. I was anxious to see how Stephanie worked with that major change in her character. As for the whole Jacob thing, people gotta stop dogging him. He and Bella were drawn to each other BECAUSE of Reneseme. There is foreshadowing to some greater reason for the love Bella and Jacob shared starting in New Moon. Also, if you read the Q&A on Stephaniemeyer.com she explains why she ended the series, and explains why there was a huge build up to a battle that "never happened". Bella had overcome all the challenges that stood in the way of her happiness, and if the Volturi were destroyed who would be around to take care of all the naughty vamps? The Cullens? Yes, Jacob will fall in love with Reneseme...he imprinted on her. It's the same song and dance as Quil and Claire, he will be her friend and protector while she grows up, and when she's ready they will be lovers. I sometimes have to question the readers who seem to miss entire sections of the saga, Did they just skim through the books or what? Was this my favorite book of the series? No. Was it my favorite series of all time? No. But for books meant for young adults, they were fun to read. I did think the whole vampire and human birth thing was a bit out there, but again this is Stephanie Meyer's world and she made it work by taking into account myths that supported her idea. And finally, as for the whole Bella being okay with not having kids, and now not being able to live without her daugther....when you have children (and I don't have children, but I am in my mid-twenties and a lot of my friends have children) you will understand where this sudden need comes from. Stephanie Meyer tried to explain it while Bella thought, on the island while Edward ran around packing, that she must have a bad imagination because she couldn't imagine herself wanting children or wanting to be married because she wasn't...it wasn't until after she was married and after she felt her baby move for the first time that she realized those were things she could have lived without in the past, but now that she has them cannot. Gotta take a deeper breath and pay attention to what the author is trying to tell you, people :-P

Devon says:

I loved everything about Breaking Dawn! I thought it was VERY well written and it's just what Bella had always wanted... I only wish it were me instead! LOL

Michele says:

For Bella, a definite fairy tale ending

Electra L. Masen Cullen says:

Yeah, and besides, even though Renesmee had sorta unusual birth, she's lovely, and she's Bella and Edward's daughter, so that makes up.

Electra L. Masen Cullen says:

Of course, Fairy Tale Ending, I loved it!
Though I'm very slightly disappointed that Jacob can
forget his impossible love towads Bella, I still love everything about it.
And Renesmee is so lovely-Jacob is ssssssssooooooo lucky
(I wish my boyfriend is like Jacob or Edward, not that he isn't, but they're so passionate about their lovers!)

Anyways, TWILIGHT SAGA RULES!!!!!!!!!!

Tasha Again says:

ALSO: the pregnancy thing needed to be rushed a bit, it WAS the last book. And although I'm an advocate of choice, unless YOU have faced that choice (or even been a mother) you can't imagine how you grow to love that little creature that is part you and part of the person who you love, and in Bella's case, have nearly died for. And selfish or not, it was her choice and no one elses. Anyone who loves you needs to understand that it's your life you risk, and your right to risk it. Just 'cause she didn't want to be a mother before, or had agreed to give it up, doesn't mean she can't change her mind when it's already happened. Sheesh. Having an abortion is a tough decision, cut the girl some slack. And don't dis motherhood. It's harder than it looks.

Tasha says:

You people are crazy. I have only read to New Moon, but I know how the books will end. It's the only plausible way. Jacob is a werewolf, he can't have a good relationship with a human because it takes YEARS for a werewolf to develop self control. Look at Sam's GF. And it would be wrong for Bella and Edward to have suffered so much and not end up together in the end. These are essentially romance novels, sans the sex (at least for most of it) and love must work perfectly.

My Worst Nightmare - Hated It!

aicert says:

I have always enjoyed reading the Twilight Saga and at some point, I was obsessed with the whole Twilight Universe however the last book for me somehow squeezed into one book. It is quite disappointing that the battle did not turn out how I was expecting it to be. I believe the viewers of Breaking Dawn Part 2 will have the same rant about it when it comes out. Also, I'm intrigued how will they make the movie interesting without an actual battle but only mind games and argues. Unless, they will change the outcome but that will definitely not a good idea. I just thought that it is more dramatic or has more impact if Bella and Edward died and Jacob and Renesmee escaped. Also, if Jacob did not imprint on Renesmee. This will much build the character of Jacob that he will do anything for Bella and protect anyone that matters to her regardless that she is a child of Edward. I think the Eclipse was the most well written among the book series.

Emma says:

The book altogether was terrible. Twilight, i have to admit that was an enjoyable book when i was 12. It's not amazing. Really at times it is extremely dull, put not the worst. New Moon was AWFUL. It truly was terrible, it was depressing, boring. Eclipse, that was enjoyable. I liked it. I loved the love triangle. It was the best book out of them all hands down.

Breaking dawn. The book is split into 3 parts. The Wedding/Honeymoon, Pregnancy, and preparing for a war that never actually happens. You have to go through over 750 pages to get through this book. It is awful, it drags on Half the book is about her pregnancy, That should tell you how terrible it is. The end. Don't even get me started about the end. This book could have been great, 1. if they split the book in two, 2 is there was a final battle. You got all hyped for this increadible vampire blood shed battle that would create a much better ending. But no in the end they pack up and leave.

Not one main charcter dies in the series. It's just a happy ending.
Awful. I feel as if a 12 year old wrote it. If Stephanie Meyer had a battle, Jake and Nessie could have tried to escape for the ancient vampires. and made it another book. Nessie and Jake on the run. Idk it seems like a much better ending with Edward and Bella and a start with Nessie and Jake.

All in all Breaking Dawn was filled with disappointments, shame and agonizing dull pages of absolute nothing. If this book was good, it would have been a much better series. 1/5

Anonymous101248 says:

Twilight was passable. New Moon seemed a waste of money. Eclipse was slightly tolerable. Breaking Dawn--EPIC FAILURE! I didn't think I could hate Bella and Edward's character more than I did when I read the first 3 books but this...this isn't even something I would call literature. It read like fanfiction, except worse because most fanfiction is considered good. This is the type of fanfiction that would ruin a once-admired novel.

Firstly, the characters. Edward seems to have remained the same, bland, one-dimensional, egotistical jerk that tries to force Bella to do whatever HE thinks is right. And Bella--well, she went from all about having sex to all about having a baby and not to say that that is a bad thing. It's just...Edward is a VAMPIRE! A century-old vampire, on top of that. How the hell is it possible that he still has sperm? Renesmee shouldn't even exist; that's not biologically possible, people, and Jacob imprinting on her seemed to make everything worse.

And let me say that I was horrified, disgusted and angered at how Jacob was portrayed in the book (well, actually, in the entire series)! He was a much better match for Bella (though in my opinion, he seemed too good for her) and he proves it time and time again, repeatedly protecting her, pushing aside his personal feelings for Edward and the Cullens for her sake. Hell, he even went against his own pack and family to protect her. Talk about loyalty. And in the end, he imprints on the baby. I don't care how Stephenie portrays imprinting--I call it another word for childgrooming (look it up if you don't know what this is).

Honestly, I could probably have forgiven all of this but one thing settled the matter: the mushy, overly-detailed, anticlimatic fairy-tale ending. Unlike Rowling, who provided an excellent, realistic ending to her Harry Potter series, Stephenie Meyer took the coward's way out and completely avoided conflict by introducing another half-vampire to appear JUST WHEN THEY NEED IT. How convienent. No conflict, no deaths, and the only vampire to get killed is one that the readers really couldn't care for.

So Breaking Dawn--EPIC FAILURE. Stephenie Meyer could've done it better.

a smart blonde says:

This book is even worse than all of the other books. I mean like, half of it is just edward and bella doing it on some island in the middle of the atlantic, and the other half is her having serious issues while she is pregnant. In my opinion, the entire series is a waste of your money, a waste of your time, and a waste of paper.

Cath says:

Well, I wasnt exactly a Twilight fan when I first saw the movie, for me vampires were a lot scarier and Buffy like, but then I saw New moon and the movie made me see what was good about the story. It was relatable. The healthy relationship vs unhealthy addictive true love. Nice. So I saw Eclipse and suddenly it grew on me so I read the books bcz I was now a fan. However that were some flaws in the books and unfortunately I found myself rooting for the relationship the books weren't based on and found that the way humanity were treated was a bit outrageous... But NOTHING would prepare me to Breaking Dawn....
It was so bad I thought I was reading the wrong book. I heard rumors that she would get pregnant and I thought it was something haters have made up. I even consider that she would get Jacob's baby(angsty but better than half human loch ness monster) or that Edward would suddenly be Human(OMFG even that would be slightly better).
I liked Book 1 sometimes, Book 2 was the only thing that made me going until.the. last. paragraph. I almost broke my computer of how SM insulted my intelligence. I thought she would do that, but I said to myself that she wasnt a 12yearold pleaser that thought that at least he has her baby!?
Even Leah was a better route! So Jacob is doomed to see Bella's eyes everyday? Every twisted moment of the last 3 books were mere pointless drama!? They're friendship and love was so meaningless that he imprinted the second she ''died''? Really?
And something I really loved was the backstorys and Alice and suddenly even that was a pain.
And I read 500pages of a fight that occurred in their mind? Really? Even chess has more emotion. I didnt feel the urge to laugh or cry like in the other books, maybe a little with the Jacob suffering and putting it through bcuz he loved Bella too much just for it all be denied bcz it was the loch ness monster ordering him from the womb... wtf

cassie says:

My Worst Nightmare - Hated it

twilight trilogy says:

Throughout it I was thinking that it was just written by a fangirl. The charcterisations were lost and the bonds between individuals. There was a much hyped-up anticipated fight that never occured and of course the too sweet fairy tale ending.
I was fine with Bella choosing Edward, seeing as it is her choice after all. But Jake imprinting on the daughter of Edward, a half-vampire was just plain cruel. He will be forced to phase for eternity with the Cullens away from a posssibilty of a human life he longed to win back (seems like everything he hated was thrust upon him through the imprint). Only Bella will be happy as she keeps both guys in her life.
Lastly, I was annoyed that all the angst built in New Moon and Eclipse meant suddenly nothing. Her choice in choosing her true love was not a sacrifice it was meant to be (like never seeing her parents, being friends with the pack, never having hildren, having bloodthirst during the first year etc). It just took away the severity of her choices.

Jennifer says:

Hated it! What a big disappointment. Stupid Bella. controlling Edward. I only wanted it to go the other way - to Jacob - because Bella would eventually get a backbone. but no - it started out disappointingly, and then just got sick and gross. Jacob will love her daughter? ugh. I seriously hate the roll model the entire series sets for teenage girls.

Katrina says:

I loved the 1st 3 books but hated (Breaking Dawn) this book took the story in a whole different direction than the other 3 books. Edward wanted Bella to stay human and it be her choice not because of the situation at hand but then there was no choice it was either change her or let her die. What if it took a different approach. Say he forsed her to abort the child then she would still have her human life and it would still be her choice to become a vampire plus giver her more to think about, not because of the circumstance at hand. Or let the child they made live only Bella would survive still human maybe use jacobs blood so she would live and still be human still being able to make the choice of when she became a vampire. The whole part with Jacob imprinting on the child Bella & Edward concieved was awful. I got the impression from the 3rd book (eclipse) that he had imprinted on Bella but did not tell her so she would have the choice of who she wanted to be with in the end. I also got the impression from Eclipse that she realized she was just as much in love with Jacob as she was with Edward her heart was split down the middle. She saw the future she would have with Jacob and wanted that just as much as she wanted the future she knew she would have with Edward. So I think the last movie should not be based on the book but go a total different direction. Fight the Voluri for her freedom to choose to be human or become a vampire.

Camilla says:

Isn't there an in between? Because I didn't hate it didn't love it. Hated the Volturi part! I wanted there to be a gruesome fight!!! I wanted Bella to rip Aro's head off!!! Although the birth scene was disgusting and it dragged on at some parts I couldn't put it down!! It was weirdly entertaining to read. I would just read and read although it was bad. I just kind of enjoyed reading it. But NOT a fairy tale ending!

connie says:

The best way to end it would have been to have Bella fall in love with a human and start the cycle all over again. I thought ending wasn't worth wading thru four books.
DISAPPOINTED IN CHICAGO

amber says:

I was disappointed in the ending. I was hoping that she wouldn't have the baby. She wouldn't turn into a vampire and see that Jacob was the better one for her! I was SO upset. And is Jacob going to fall for the daughter????

Mirandaaaaaaaaa[; says:

i wish that EVEN THOUGH its was a part vampire baby, that the pregnancy still wouldve been like any other would have been....if bella had been able to hav a regular pregnancy and stay human a little while longer maybe i wouldve like renesmee but now i hate her. she ruined the whole book! in BD Bellas all about the baby and how she cant live without her...well she didnt have a problem with not having kids b4 she got pregnant so why is she all caught up with the baby thing and being a mom now??? I think Bella is being very selfish, putting everyone through that pregnancy crisis ):

Im sorry stephenie but i think that Renesmee kinda screwed everything. I still like BD in some places but i just wish the pregnancy couldve been normal. ):

BUT i do like the way everything ended happily and i did like the wedding parts and b4 bella found out she was pregnant and even a lil bit in book 3 but only in some parts (:

eneLrah lab jacOb says:

It's such a waste of time to wrote the book in series if you could end it this way from the very first book. Ugh..It sucks. Everything just go without a hitch.

mrs cullen <3 says:

Yeah like the Volturi would just walk off, all they had to do was distarct Bella and Jane and Alecs powers would start working again.
Don't get me started on Renesmee but I guess it's better than EJ if it were a boy, can't remember my sister says it stands for Edward Jacob which would mean Bellas being selfish again or Edward Junior which would prove that Bella's stupid. Poor Edward, he has to spend centuries with her now.

lesly BLACK. loves JACOB BLACK.:)) says:

why should a werewolf imprint on a baby. i know like. was that quil or embry o imprinted in claire? but claire's somewhat part of the clan. But nessie's no where part of it. yeah i agree. he should have imprint on leah instEAD.

Jade says:

Ugh. Perfection just makes me...ugh. For the first three books, it's all about choice, sacrifice, and how Bella would have to give up her human life completely and become this wild creature.
So instead, she's perfect, and still gets to hang with her dad straight away. And have a wonderful child who will reach full growth in very little time. We won't even go into the name, other than to say Carlie is the better of two evils.
Plus- The most awesomely powerful of all vampies, the Volturi, just kind of....left. As if.
One more thing- Jacob? And the baby? Nooooooo. Should have been Leah. Or a really amusing thing I saw that said it would have been brilliant if Jacob had of imprinted on Edward. LOL!!!!

Sonia says:

Worst ending to any series i've ever read!!
1)Stephanie Meyers contradicts herself saying that vampires have no bodily fluids, then in BD, Edward can magically impregnate Bella?!! WTF!!???
2)Reneesme? FAILED! FAILED FAILED FAILED and the fact that Jacob out of all characters IMPRINTED on her!! Can you say pedophilia? Absolutely disgusting!
3)Bella got everything, had a baby, turned into a vampire and didnt suffer AT ALL during the process, got Edward, got Jacob, kept her family, seriously what happend to a bittersweet ending?! What happend to the sacrifice Bella would have to endure if she turned into a vampire that was said in the previous books? Not being able to have a family (baby), being in pain the first year (transformation), losing your family (her father and mother because she would be thirsty for them)...i could just go on and on!
4)The whole anti-climatic war against the Volturi than NEVER ended up happening!! 200 pages of preparing for a "war" that never happends in the end!! PATHETIC!!
5)Stephanie Meyers ruined her series with this ridiculous book, it was practically a compilation of a bunch of crappy fan fiction put together! And no Stephanie, the Rob effect wont work on me with this book! I just pretend that the 4th book never happen and look at the twilight series as a trilogy because the first 3 books were VERY good and the 4th one could have been AMAZING but was a complete failure!!!!!!

kevin says:

Ms. Meyer could have ended the best story of all time a little better than that.

Kari says:

The first part about the weddig was great, but I wish she would have survived the pregancy on her own, in human form. SM could have made it so that something happened that made Bella want to stay human, because I think thats what's best for all of them, but its hard to decide.
