First, breast augmentation surgery with breast implants is not always a singular intervention. Multiple operations are sometimes required in order to correct or retouch the imperfections. Over time, you may also need removal or replacement of the breast prosthesis.

Possible complications of silicone implants could be the appearance of postoperative seroma and hematoma or wound infections in certain areas. A further risk can be capsular contracture. The capsule formed around the prosthesis may shrink, causing discomfort and pain. All these risks can be avoided, however, if the surgeon follows some very precise indications.
