Breitling Chronomat

Movement
The movement is a Val 7750 modified by Kelek. A Breitling is an instrument and therefore this workhorse does a good job. This movement is not known as a complicated beauty but it does what it is supposed to do, I give it 15 Points.

Case, Crystal and Crown
The best case I have ever seen. Excellent finish. The combination of the aggressive bezel and crown with the doomed antireflect coated crystal and the rider tabs gives the watch a unique style. I've had no problems with the rider tabs catching sleeves or anything else, maybe I am wearing the wrong clothes or the gold tabs are not as aggressive as the steel ones. The crown has the perfect size (for my fingers) and doesn't drill a hole in the back of your hand. I've hit the crystal against some things but so far no scratches on the antireflect coating. I give it all of the 20 points.

Dial and Hands
Perfect. I have got the black dial with gold hands. I love it to look at the dial with a 12x loupe - there are so many fine details. The alignment of the gold hands is perfect. The exactly painted luminova and the contrast between the gold hands and the black dial make it readable under all light conditions.

Accuracy
The first two weeks it was about +/-0 seconds a day. Now it varies between -1 and +2 seconds per day. The strange thing is: If it runs one day 2 seconds faster, it slows the next one or two days 1 second down. Today it is +1 sec and I haven't corrected the time over the last month. I've never expected this accuracy of a 7750 - all points.

Strap, Buckle or Bracelet
Shark leather strap and pilot band, both with clasp. Both are very comfortable and well made and the same quality as the case - all points.

Nice bakelite box, Breitling pin, Breitling cap multilanguage manual , dealer list, COSC certificate - yes and the watch.

Comfort
The chronomat is neither a small nor a light watch and it is difficult to hide. But after some time you simply forget that you are wearing the watch. No sharp edges, no sharp crown. I wear the watch everyday at work and at sports.

Value
It was the right decision and I love the watch. For the money you get a high quality watch, a real jewel. The Breitling service is legendary - they even change the dials and hands if you wish. The only problem is: I need another one and I will pay the price again.
