My daughter is 2 1/2 and I have been fighting for time through the courts since she was born. I am fortunate enough to have the money to pay an attorney, currently over $20,000. This bill will help the fathers who cant afford to!

The effects of not letting children spend time with both parents will stay with them for a lifetime. Let's not let another day go by with this injustice. If doing what is right for the children is truly the most important thing, then how can we NOT pass this bill?

State laws are great and guaranteed by the Constitution. Unfortunately, federal law has taken control and authority over child support in violation of human and civil rights. It's called the Bradley Amendment.

Children need both parents actively involved in their lives. HB 4564 ensures that both the rights and duties of raising children is upon both parents!

This change is well OVERDUE! As an elected official, i.e. Rep. Brenda Clack, you have a DUTY TO LISTEN AND SERVE your constituents with issues that they are concerned with. This issue is very sensitive in the hearts of many Michigan families and we need your support to help repair our families!!!

The State makes it very clear that men are to be financially responsible for their kids, then why doesn't the State embrace the fact that they should be emotionally responsible, as well. Isn't time we change a law from thirty years ago.

As a citizen/taxpayer/parent I would expect any representative of the people of the State of Michigan to do whatever they could to improve the quality of our children's lives. HB4564 is a step in the right direction to insure the children of have equal access to both parents. Our kids deserve it.

Brenda Clack This bill needs to get passed. In my heart of hearts I am a child advoocate. Imagine how a child might feel after finding out not only is the paarent they love leaving the home, but now they will be able to experience the love and nuturing of the other parent on a very limited basis

Michigan's Family Courts are broken. Studies show that children do much better when both parents are involved. However, family courts routinely take one parent out of the lives of children. This has to stop!! Joint custody should be mandated unless one parent is unfit. We must pass HB 4564.

ms.clack your responsibility as a legislator is to report this bill out of committee for positive action from the house and senate. kids need both parents to have a chance at success in life. apparently your life experience in the most violent city in the usa has jaded your perception about parents.

Brenda, spend time in local shops and the topic of children comes up. Get to know the people who have been removed from the lives of their children, for no reason. Guarantee, it will make you cry, break your heart and most likely draw you to action. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to bring about change.

It is long past time to relinquish the power of divorce courts to destroy parenting. Equal/shared parenting is a win/win situation. There is no logical or empirical reason to think otherwise. Please vote in favor of shared parenting, however it is termed or arranged.

If not for children rights, then think about your monetary needs in the State of Michigan. Michigan's debt problem is announced nationwide. If you vote/pass HB 4564, you will have a spillover effect, and Americans will begin to flood into your State Similar to the gold rush, children are our gold, and if all parents want the best for their kids, they will go to Michigan. Your State will have an economic boom?do some research, you will be surprised. Now you have two reasons?population / economic boom, and productive families. Think out of the box Brenda, and vote / pass HB 4564

This Bill is about individual rights! When the divorce laws and the courts usurp the rights of the individual the legislature has a duty to protect those rights. The bill would accomplish this without the prejudice in the current manner of deciding custody. Men are being dicrimminated against.

Representative Clack, you have an opportunity to do what is right for EVERY child and EVERY parent who is suffering from a divorce situation in the state of Michigan. A divorce is the end of a marriage, not the responsibility of a parent towards his or her own children. Bring HB 4564 up for a vote

It's time to stop the child abuse that is created and maintained by our legal system for profit. It's time to let parents be EQUAL parents without giving the courts more say and rights that a biological parent!

Divorce is a break in marriage not in parenting ability. Kids need to security of both ?parents? after suffering the breakdown of their family. The laws that take away joint custody are cruel and assuming. Help heal our country and put kids back in t parent relationships ? not part time parenting relationships.

Please allow children to realize that both parents love them equally - it is not fair to turn one or the other parent into a "part time" caregiver. You make assumptions that one parent is not as good as the other when you do not allow shared parenting. divorce does not change abilities.

The current structure of family law in Michigan is hostile toward children. The parents know what the "best interests" of a child are, not the government. HB 4564 proposes EQUALITY and respects the rights of children. This bill needs to be voted on by the citizens' representatives.

You need to vote yes on this bill. It is about time that the stupid courts in this state have to give children the right to have BOTH parents in their lives and hearts. Michigan is going to the tubes fast and a yes vote can be a small babystep toward turning things around, if you care that is.

Men need equal rights as females or fathers vs. mothers. Every other weekend I see my nephew cry because he doesn't get to see his dad. When my husband was "allowed" to see his daughter she cried every other weekend as well, she wanted to stay w/her dad. Children need both parents, as I did.

It takes two people to bring a child into this world and two people to raise a child but the need with equal time. Let's reduce the Amber alerts by giving equal time to divorced parents and their children. Free up police enforcement, attorney, and court time and this will save the taxpayers money.
