How I generated $2 million dollars starting with only $2 and an idea as an Internet Marketer.

My name is Brian Campbell and I've been an Internet Marketer for 5 years. I accidentally stumbled into this amazingly lucrative new world of economic freedom commonly called the "Internet."

I was born in Hawaii, but moved to Philadelphia when I was 4 years old. My father had his own business, but there were several years where he was in and out of jail and my family was on welfare. I learned to appreciate simple things in life like hot water, door knobs and heat and looked at anything else as being a luxury.

Determined to change my life, I went to college after working in construction for a few years after high school. I majored in Mathematics and graduated with a 3.98 GPA from West Chester University the day they captured Saddam Hussein. I would have had a 4.0, but I missed a final because I was in the hospital and got an A- in the course.

The year before I graduated college, I got married. We were struggling to make our basic bills. I was working 5-6 nights a week delivering pizzas because it was the highest paying job I could get while in school, and my wife was a Christian school teacher who didn't make much money. I was working every excess hour that I could and still wasn't making enough money for the basics in life.

I was almost paying my bills each month (putting $200 to $300 on credit cards to supplement my income), but I was falling deeper into debt. When I graduated college I was over $30,000 in debt!

The Miracle I was praying for

A year and a half before finishing college a thought came to me. I thought to myself "There are people making money on the Internet. It's always been a goal of mine to make money, I wonder how people do it?" That thought was the catalyst to one of the most amazing things that ever happened to me - becoming an Internet Marketer.

It's actually funny what I did next. I went to google and typed "make money online" then I clicked "search." The second or third search result got my attention with a phrase "make money online with your own turnkey internet sales machine." This was the only search result that I clicked on.

A page came up that offered to give me my own $10 internet website where I could sell a collection of 6,000+ eBooks for only $10 and keep all of the money myself. The eBooks were about selling eBooks online. This sounded like a scam to me, but I kept reading the site. The website looked very tacky, but somehow I kept reading it. I bookmarked the website and went to bed.

I spent 3-4 days thinking about the website and what was being offered. I never heard of an "eBook" before, but it was strangely compelling to me. I went back to the site 7 or 8 times and agonized about wasting $10. $10 seemed like a lot of money at the time and I didn't want to get scammed.

I eventually talked myself into the purchase, but I didn't tell anyone about it because I was embarrassed to buy such an obviously "to good to be true" offer. I paid my $10 and got my 6,000+ eBook package.

At the time I bought the package not to resell it, but rather to satisfy my curiosity. The eBooks were about cool stuff. They promised to teach me how to make money with email marketing, create my own website, get in the search engines, create my own viral reports, and other cool "insider secrets" that were completely new to me.

I spent about 2 months reading my eBook collection. The package wasn't all it was cracked up to be. It was basically a bunch of fluff that gave me a bunch of ideas, but required me to buy other "eBooks" for $20 to $500 to learn the true "secrets." There wasn't actually a concrete plan to follow, everything was still mysterious about how to actually "do" what the eBooks talked about. The material back then was very watered down and although it promised all these amazing secrets, it didn't deliver.

I wasn't upset about it, It was still well worth the $10. I mean, what did I expect for $10? After about 2 months I stopped reading the eBook collection and it sat on my computer for about a year.

Ready, Set, Make Money

In the break before my final semester in college, I was in a financial pinch. My wife needed $5,000 worth of dental work that we didn't have. We got the dental work financed, but the payments were $400 per month. I needed a miracle to come up with this money each month.

I started thinking hard about ways I could make money. I was stumped, and was getting frustrated that I couldn't come up with an idea. I was up late one night due to the financial stress I was in and saw an infomercial. It was an ad for a foreign currency trading course. I had been developing my own methods of foreign currency trading from my mathematics studies for the past year, and had been studying the stock market for the previous 7 years.

I saw the infomercial and I noticed they were charging $2,000 for training you to trade forex. My next step was to go to eBay and see if anyone was selling a cheaper course on forex trading. I went to eBay and noticed one person selling a forex course for $99.99. He was selling an eBook!

I figured if that guy could sell an eBook online, then I could too. I wrote the sales letter for the eBay ad and started a 10 day auction with a starting price of $39.99. The ad cost me $1.65, so I just say it cost me $2. At this point I hadn't written the eBook yet, but I had 10 days to do so. By the end of the 10 days I already had 10-15 people bidding on different auctions for the eBook.

I wrote the eBook in Microsoft Word and with the first payment I received, I purchased the eBook creation software. I quickly converted my document into an eBook and sent it to the first customer. It's funny that the first customer actually paid me for the software, and then I later made thousands of eBooks with that software and kept all the money. I kept selling the first eBook and made close to $3,000 my first month.

For the next 6 months I was one of only 2-3 people selling a forex course on eBay. More competitors entered the eBay forex eBook market and my profits started to decline because I was now competing with 20-40 other forex eBooks.

I decided to make a website for my eBook and started doing all of the other Internet Marketing activities that I now teach. I started building my list and promoting my website with viral marketing, advertising and other methods.

The Right Place at the Right Time

I definitely got into the right niche at the right time. I joined with one of my competitors (a rival forex course) and we launched Rapidforex.com. We complimented each other because Robert (my new partner) was more interested in currency trading, and I was more of an Internet Marketer. My role for Rapid Forex was to manage the marketing campaigns, and Robert's main task was to provide the training. Each of us were involved with both departments, but we took the lead on our areas of expertise. Rapid Forex made $83,000 in the first month and over $100,000 in the second month. We had numerous six figure months since then and never dropped below 5 figures for the life of the site.

After launching Rapid Forex, I launched other niche sites and had some nice successes. I have used pen names in different markets to keep my name anonymous in niches totally unrelated to forex or making money online (this is totally legal, and I'll teach you how on IMU). Rapid Forex remains my biggest success to date, but I have other sites which are still making me a nice income.

After running Rapid Forex for a few years my partner Robert & I lost our enthusiasm for the website. We got burned out from forex and both of us wanted a change. After discussing our options over many long hours together, we decided to close Rapid Forex. We both needed to close the site because we had a divergence in what really excited us.

The beauty of Internet Marketing for me is the freedom that it's given me. It's allowed me to move to Hawaii, and to not have to go to a "job." It allowed me to move back to Philadelphia when I chose to be closer to family. I've been working from home in my pajamas for the past 5 years and I can't imagine doing anything differently. When Rapid Forex wasn't fun for Robert & I, we simply shut it down. After all, money isn't the most important thing in life (don't get me wrong, it's an important part of life, just not everything in life).

Robert & I both took a year off from our Internet businesses. Robert has re-released his forex courses for FREE at www.trademoney.com. These are the same courses that we sold thousands of copies of for $497, but you can get them for FREE at his site. This is Robert's site and I wish him the best of luck with it.

During the Rapid Forex era, I began teaching Internet Marketing on a site called InternetProfitMentor.com, which later became www.InternetMarketingUniversity.com. IMU sold for $497 as well. These are the same exact courses that are now available for FREE at IMU. Can you see a pattern that Robert & I followed? We believe in giving out amazing value to our website visitors, we credit this principle as being the most fundamental reason why Rapid Forex was so successful.

I made the mistake of sacrificing my health and some of my relationships during this time period. I was spending too many hours behind a computer and eating at restaurants to "celebrate" every success I was having. I was having a lot of successes, so I celebrated a lot. During this time, every time I went to a restaurant, I actually made more money while I was at the restaurant than what it cost me to eat at the restaurant. I made more money asleep than most people make working at their job.
