Starting out with Roxy Music, Brian Eno has forged far beyond playing keyboards with an art-progressive rock band. His seminal AMBIENT 1: MUSIC FOR AIRPORTS is recognized as the birth of ambient music. These days he composes and records as he pleases and sits on the board of The Long Now Foundation. This is Brian as he looked in the Roxy Music days.

If you've never listened to Brian Eno, there are a lot of albums to consider and catch up with. And that's just if you go with the stuff where he's a musician. He's also done a ton of musical production for other bands.

A amazing introduction to Brian Eno's music can be had over at the archive for Henry Rollin's radio show "Harmony in my Head." For the April 1st 2008 show, he played an entire evening of music by Eno. It's free and you can download it.
