I'm not going to bother with telling you how many times I have been a member of a Bridal Party (but, no, the upcoming movie "27 Dresses" is not my life story). And, with more weddings coming up again, I was tickled pink to find

In a traditional wedding, the wedding party refers to the group of people participating in the ceremony with the bride and groom (formally, bridegroom). The bridal party consists of the maid of honor (matron of honor if she is married) and the bridesmaids. The groom is accompanied by the best man and the groomsmen. Finally, any flower girls and page boys (including the ringbearer) are traditionally included in the wedding party.

What Does The Bridal Party Do On The Wedding Day?

The bridesmaids assist the bride with her dress and makeup.
The bridesmaids will be the messenger if the bride wants to communicate sight-unseen with the family or groom.
The Maid or matron of Honor will visit the reception room to check on the details.
The bridesmaids will help to make sure the bride has privacy before the ceremony if desired.
The Maid or Matron of Honor and the Best man will sign the marriage license after the ceremony.
The Maid or Matron of Honor will help the bride with her veil and train before, during and after the ceremony.
The Maid or Matron of Honor will hold the bride's bridal bouquet during the ceremony as required.
The Maid or Matron of Honor will hold the groom's wedding ring to hand to the bride during the ceremony.
