Simon & Garfunkel: Bridge Over Troubled Water
The song Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel is a classic pop ballad and among my Top 10 favourite tracks of all time.
Written by Paul Simon, with a solo vocal by Art Garfunkel, the song was released by the duo in its studio version in early 1970 and soon topped both the American and British music charts, remaining at the summit in the US for six weeks and in the UK for three. It is taken from the album of the same name, which in itself includes four high selling US hits, and went on to sell in the region of 25 million units worldwide.
Over the years, the success and pure brilliance of the Simon and Garfunkel recording of Bridge Over Troubled Water has sparked many cover versions: from the gospel inspired Aretha Franklin, through the country flavoured Johnny Cash to the spiritual awareness of Amber Riley from the Glee cast.

- It's fun to listen to the many different versions of a favorite song. I've never done a lens like this. Might have to try one... Simon & Garfunkel gets my vote, of course. Aside from the beauty of their version, it brings back so many memories.
