Boxer Dogs
The Boxer dog breed is one of the best loved dog breeds there are. Many people do not appreciate, however, how much exercise boxers needs. Boxer breeders always (or should always) ensure that their boxer pups go to homes where there is a big yard area, and to owners who intend to take their boxer breed dog for long, regular walks.

Guide to Boxer Dogs
Boxer Breed
The Boxer is considered to be an all-time favorite breed among dog enthusiasts. They were formed as a result of breeding two specific European breeds that no longer exist today. They were the Danziger Bullenbeiser and the Brabenter Bullenbeiser. The AKC recognized the Boxer during the early 1900s.
This dog has a very outgoing personality, playful, and attentive to its owners and training commands. The Boxer makes a perfect addition to a family who enjoys an active lifestyle. They are generally well behaved with other household pets and are friendly towards children.
Care for Your Boxer
The Boxer is not a breed that is meant to be kept indoors without activity. He needs daily stimulation, both mentally and physically, and enjoys running. This dog would make a great jogging companion and must be active through daily walks on the leash.
Boxers are best suited for living indoors with their family. Hot weather is not this dogs best preference in terms of temperature. He prefers a cooler atmosphere so if you keep your Boxer outdoors for any length of time, be sure that there is plenty of shaded area for him to rest when overheated.
Grooming is very simple with the Boxer. Due to his short coat, you'll only need an occasional brushing once weekly in order to remove dead hairs, as well as the occasional bath to keep your boxer's skin and coat in great condition.
Your Boxer's Health
The Boxer dog breed has an average life span of anywhere between eight to ten years, or considerably longer if you give your boxer healthy dog food, and use natural remedies for dogs. Veterinarians recommend that Boxer dog owners have their animals specifically tested for health issues such as hip dysplasia, cardiac issues, and potential thyroid problems.
There are a few major health concerns that seem to be typical with the Boxer breed, and they are SAS, CHD, and Boxer cardiomyopathy. Slightly less major concerns include corneal erosion, gastric torsion, hypothyroidism, and colitis. Occasionally, the Boxer dog breed may develop brain tumors.
Boxer Dog Training
Boxer dog training, whether you have a new puppy and are interested specifically in Boxer puppy training, or whether you've had your dog for some time (or have just acquired an adult Boxer, for that matter), Boxers need to be trained. They're active and boisterous, and for that reason alone, Boxer dog training is imperative, or you'll have a really unruly dog on your hands.
Brindle Boxers
Brindle boxers are famous among many dog lovers, and paricularly among Boxer lovers. Boxer dogs come in various colors that include the fawn color, red, white and the well-known brindle boxers.
When talking about their appearance, the Boxer dog has short-hair and comes with a very smooth and shiny coat. You may wonder what fawn denotes. The color fawn has several tones such as light tan or yellow. It can also have shades of reddish tan, mahogany, etc. The boxer dogs that are said to have a reddish appearance do not necessarily mean they are red in color. The fawn boxers have a coat that's very rich in color and hence called 'red'.
Brindle boxers are named because of their stripy appearance. Their black stripes usually come on a fawn background. Some brindle boxers come with the appearance that many people refer to as a 'reverse brindle'. This means that instead of black stripes, they have fawn stripes on a black background.
All Boxers are very friendly and easy to train from an early age. If you are already an owner of several pets, Boxers could be trained to interact with the other pets in a way where everyone can live peacefully and in a friendly manner. Families love them as they are known to be affectionate, playful as well as loyal.
Unlike many other dogs, Boxers are intelligent and therefore easier to be trained within a short span of time. If you think your Brindle Boxer is up to some mischief, you could try positive reinforcement training as they respond well to such tactics.
Brindle boxers like all the other boxer dogs are prone to having different health issues ranging from cancer, heart conditions, and intestinal problems to various allergies. Attention must be given to their diet at all times if you want your dog to be healthy and happy.
