This simple invention works to ease your log carrying load. How did we carry logs without this?? Since we partially heat our home with a wood stove, it was a necessary chore to bring in loads of split wood every other day during the coldest months. My family would take turns but our children started feeling like beaten down pack mules.

My mother sent us her yearly box of knick knacks and gifts for Christmas. This box is always a special ceremony to open, mainly because its from my mom, but also we had no idea what was in it and was a fun surprise. Sometimes it had thoughtful gifts for everyone, sometimes gifts for the house like place settings and glassware.

This year, one of the things she sent was a canvas log carrier! At first we looked at the cloth and handles and thought, this is no where near sturdy enough for the amount we need to bring in. It’ll fall apart after a few uses.

Wrong! This hands down is the best practical gift she ever gave us. Every single family member says a thank you in our mind to her whenever we use it, which is all the time in the winter.

The reasons it is so good:

*It carries two arm loads at one time.

*It balances differently so it gives the muscles a break from the regular workout.

*It makes it neater and easier to unload the logs onto the hearth.

My husband carries it alone and my daughters each take an end and carry it together.

I highly recommend the Panacea Canvas Log Tote for yourself or as a gift for someone you know that has a fireplace.

Our log holder is a welcome helper in our family.

A simple invention, but so useful. When I was a teenager I never wanted to be the one to bring in an armload of wood for the fireplace because it was so awkward to carry, scratched up my arms or left bits of bark in my sweater. I bet if we had had a log carrier, it would have made the job more pleasant.

I bet too! And now we have another 8 inches of snow. Luckily we brought in the wood. Thanks flycatcher for coming by.

Though it's just a hop, skip and a jump to the patio where I store my wood, this would make for a quick jaunt in and out to get enough for an evening.

I too love my log carrier. I like the selections you offer with the raised ends, four sided. Mine does not have this and I'm forever dropping bits of wood out the ends when I move logs through the house to the wood burner.

I was looking at those too! We have one without and it for my two girls carrying it, but if one person's carrying it, the raised sides would be an advantage. I've only been here 2 years but I love having a wood stove.
